Got my grades back yesterday. I did pretty good. So i decided to celebrate and write...and I was also bored. Three weeks till classes restart. I decided to write a Bleach story. I was worried that Gin was out of character but I really don't feel that he is. Gin isn't like Aizen although they are associated with each other and appear to be clones in terms of acting nice to the outside world until they switch sides and become all bad-ass. Gin seems more human to me. He has ties to Soul Society and the people in it unlike Aizen who clearly states he was playing everyone. Gin never says this. I think he chooses evil ultimately but I think there is a part of him which is willing to be changed. I mean, it's not his plan to revolt against Soul Society. It's Aizen's dream and he is just the instrument in it. He is always following Aizen...has been doing so for a long time. What I wanted to show through Rangiku and Gin's conversation is the bond they share and who they are as people. Gin is always trying to manipulate people and with Rangiku, the best method is using their shared implied sexual history. And Rangiku is having none of that. She's a strong women but she doesn't know what to think about Gin. She does love him. She isn't happy with the situation and doesn't know how to react with him. It's kind of when you break up a boyfriend and they want you back. You still have feelings for them but you know they are only going to hurt you. They will never be the person that you know them as. And if you give into them and your feelings for them, you are selling out yourself because it's your weakness that drives you to them, not because they are something you honestly need in your life. But still, you long for them and it takes tlme for that hole in your life where they once were to heal up. As for Gin, it's hard being a badass. Sometimes you just want to be loved or maybe just have someone who believes the best in you. I see his and Rangiku's conversation like one of those conversations that occur when your significant other is very drunk and starts saying all this weird stuff because they no longer have the barrier in between their words/actions and their emotions and begin confessing how they really feel. |
