![]() Author has written 3 stories for Anime X-overs. January 25, 2009 I'M GOING TO NEW YORK CITY!! This is totally and completely insane, but in about two weeks I'm flying to NYC with my best friend. For one night. Two days. Why? The New York Comic Con. Okay, well, not exactly. This may possibly be the dorkiest, most impulsive thing I've done in a long time. We're going because a member of the super-popular Japanese band Arashi will be there; Sho Sakurai is premiering his new movie Yatterman. And for those of you in love with anything Japanese, the chances of meeting someone you truly admire are slim to none unless you're actually traveling to Japan. So we jumped at the chance. And, lol, I only think it's dorky because when I try explaining my arm-flailing and excited giggling to someone else, they give the "wtf" face. Siiigh. But it's great! So excited! January 16, 2009 Ugh. C-Cooold. (It's -10 below here, but with the wind it's -30. Too freaking cold!) I need hot chocolate. and blankets. But especially that hot chocolate. Oh, I also added a link at the bottom of my profile - It's a fanvid I posted on , an... extended trailer for "The Stealing of Time". Well, sorta. xD Haven't exactly finished it yet, so my ideas may change. More posts soon! PS - The pilot of flight 1549 is amazing. I'm glad everyone is okay! January 5, 2009 I had a revelation today. Office jobs (my job) are poor habitats for starving writers (me). In theory, it sounds great - handy access to computers, paper clips and highlighters galore... But it's not. It's a bad, very bad idea. Why? Because. 1. ... researching plagues and biological warfare for your story on company computers is 'frowned upon.' Even worse if you're maximizing the physical symptoms on your screen. 2. ... randomly giggling as you type makes your coworkers think your (I'm) crazy. 3. ... of the unintentional go-to-hell looks you give your boss and coworkers when they interrupt your brainstorming. 4. ... of coworkers asking about your story (because of said random giggling) and painfully attempting to explain the nuances of time traveling and consistency. 5. ... taking your writer's block fustrations out with the stapler gets pretty violent. 6. ... threatening fussy characters with the industrial-sized shredder is just a little abnormal, isn't it? 7. ... once or twice, you let your mind wander and started typing love scenes in to your report. 8. ... putting your (my) sick boss on hold while you finish typing a sentence isn't a good start for long-term employment. 9. ... you're rushing through copying, shredding, etc etc to get back to the minimized word file on your computer asap. 10. ... work starts at the same time, regardless of whether or not you were up to 2am cranking out a rough draft. And, finally... 11. ... the look on your boss' face when he/she (she) realizes those weren't notes you were taking during the presentation is priceless... and slightly terrifying. Just saying. Bad idea. (Safe to say, I'm inspired and have been thoroughly lectured. (Sorry sorry!) Though I think it's okay. I must of looked so chastised (terrified) my normally stern, middle-aged boss burst out laughing in the middle of it. Then again as she walked in to her office, glancing over her shoulder at me. I saw her doubling over just as the door shut. So what did I learn from this experience? To make a list on and keep a minimized word document on my taskbar. ) December 14, 2008 Hey Everyone! Happy Holidays! The semester is ending and I'm studying (most of the time) this week then taking my finals. Even so, I'm still writing stories and making fanvids in my spare time. I can't begin to tell you how off-kilter my life has been these past few months. I've been working full-time and taking classes full-time, while my personal life is more than a little screwed up right now (ugh). Life is so crazy sometimes! But I'm hoping it's of the good kind. So, with any luck, I can use this break to update some old stories, upload some videos that I should have finished ages ago (I'm so sorry!), and a few gift-fics for you guys. _ Sound good? Good. Because I need the break to just write and relax, too! Wow.. That sounds so amazing right now. It's only eight more days. Just eight more days! Eight more days, I can do it. There's a fair chance I may be comatose after exams though. Good heavens, I hope not. Dx So, here's to a new beginnings! raises glass : BiO : "So what if I see the sunshine - Michelle Branch, "You Get Me" I'm equal parts charming and insane. Or so I've been told, anyway. I'm the girl sitting cross-legged at the coffee shop, sipping something sugary and caffeinated, and clacking away on my laptop (or a notebook that's seen better days). I make faces when I write. Sometimes I yell. Sometimes, I make strangers very uncomfortable. I'm a wanderer that sleeps at odds hours and works full-time while also attending classes full-time. I don't have much time for myself, but I like to think I spend it well. If I could meet anyone famous (dead or alive), I'd have trouble deciding between Rene Descartes, Janis Joplin, and Charlie Chaplin. My new year's resolution is to travel for two weeks with only what I can stuff in a backpack and a vague destination in mind. I'm nineteen, have several nicknames, and I'm still best friends with the same two girls from elementary school. My grammar is not the best, so I feel I must apologize for any inconsistencies or confusion my lack of attention in grade school may have caused. : Quotes : Life is about chasing after the things you truly think are worth it, even if they don't happen. I'd rather have nothing but know I didn't settle for something I didn't want. Never regret. If it's good, it's wonderful. If it's bad, it experience. "All that changes in history is the name we give things." -Harry Truman "You live and learn. Or you don't live long." The Notebooks of Lazarus Long, Robert Heinlein “You can die at any time, but it takes true courage to live." -Kenshin Himura "Orthodoxy is the death of creativity!" - Azumanga Daioh :Works In Progress/Ideas/Coming Soon: " Time "- One-Shot. "The threads of time weave together in intricate patterns, weaving lives together and pulling them apart; in ways that move neither forwards nor backwards, continuously. The threads of time cannot be unraveled or undone. This is fate." Naraku steals Youko's Hoshi no Tama (Starball) and forces the silver kitsune to do his bidding. He ruthlessly slays the miko, watching her clay body disinigrate into dust. His target is Kagome. However, Kagome doesn't know if she can kill the handsome silver fox as easily. Why? - This is one of the darkest, most heartwrenching stories I've seriously contemplated writing. Mostly because I let my muse have her way with my movie maker and this is what came of it: A romantic tragedy. May become a two-shot if my conscience doesn't leave me the hell alone. EDIT: Previously titled " The Girl In the Library " until a better one could be found. Because my mom laughed at the title (it most certainly was not dumb), I outlined the story and made her help me. Currently called "The Stealing of Time" Details still being hashed out, but overall the outline is plotted. (Warning: Character workload heavily influenced by author's life!) Mostly a mission of deeper characterization (attempts). :Contacts: Gaia Online : My Profile is oORainOo :MY LINKS: Youko x Kagome x Kurama FanVid NEW!
