A teacher has assigned a partner project, and a young girl approaches him, glancing hopefully at two girls chatting excitedly.

"Sir," she asks hopefully. "Can we work in groups of threes for this project?"

Seeing the glance, the teacher says yes. The girl scampers off.

Later, the girl comes back, looking beaten. Her eyes are watering.

"Sir," she says, trying not to look at the two girls, who are still chatting. "Could we work alone on this project?"

You think it's funny that I don't fight back. You think your cool. You think what you're doing is okay, and you think I just laugh it off. He is abused enough at home. See that old man you made fun of cause of the ugly scars? He fought for our country. See that young boy you just made fun of for always being sick? He has to walk home in the snow cause his family is too poor. That guy you just made fun of for crying? His mother is dying.

There is NOTHING okay with seeing suicide as a romantic thing. There is NOTHING okay with using suicide for yourself. There is NOTHING okay with laughing at someone else's life. There is NOTHING okay with acting like suicide is a good thing or that it should be honored. It's terrible and frightening and it makes everything seem awful. It makes days go on forever and hate viol in your stomach. It makes tears and screams and secrets you don't want to keep. It makes darkness and light and thoughts you don't want to have. It makes a way out you shouldn't take; it makes something terrible for everyone. It's not FREAKING FUNNY. It's awful. It's awful.
