Author has written 21 stories for Lloyd Alexander, Star Wars, Chronicles of Narnia, A Little Princess, Chronicles of Prydain, and Black Cauldron. I'm 42, and I love children's books. There, I said it. Don't judge. My first love is Lloyd Alexander's Chronicles of Prydain, a series loosely based on Welsh mythology, unfairly doomed to the lowest shelves of libraries and bookstores despite being critically acclaimed and Newberry-award winning. Most of my stories are from this fandom, and most of them are unapologetically, incurably romantic, though nothing with ratings that would make the author turn in his grave, God rest his lovely soul. I am interpreting the first book as a graphic novel, popular with fans of the series. It can be found by visiting the website comicfury and searching there for the keyword "prydain". Alternately, just google the "The Book of Three comic"; there's only one. It's also on deviantart under my username, Saeriellyn - along with the rest of my Prydain-inspired art. I am old enough to remember the "golden age" of internet fandom, when readers and consumers were far more likely to engage than they are now, and fandom was a thing we shared with enthusiasm, lots of discussion, and delight in mutual enjoyment. For the younger generations - yes, it really was that good, and I encourage you to be not only a consumer but an active engager - not only is it fun, it motivates us creators to keep creating. So if you like what you read, you're likely to get more of it, faster, by actually acknowledging that a person wrote it, and telling us what you think of it. Try it. I respond to all signed reviews. |
