This chapter surprised me, though, because I'd always figured Chess came up with the escape plan himself. I suppose that's completely open to interpretation. |

I've been reading a lot of AiW (2010) fic lately that continued to go the darker Burton route, and while I LOVE angsty!Mad Hatter, I did miss the whimsical insanity of Carroll. This is a particularly interesting moment in the movie, since he is for once angry with Alice. I like your take on his thoughts here. |
