Hello! :waves at everyone: Real name: Emma Age: 21 Location: LA area AIM: elphabareborn YIM & Skype: emthejedichic LJ: Tumblr: I've been blogging every now and then; the blogs can be found on my LJ. They're mainly about my life and stuff though, not fandom. Check out my original work on fictionpress! I have the same s/n over there. Most of that stuff is pretty old though... but not as old as some of the stuff on this account. Make of that what you will. Not familiar with the canon background info for my fic, The Will of the Force? Everything you need to know is here. Familiarity is assumed with Episodes I-VI only. Active Story Stats: (AKA: Will she ever finish that one story?) Updated 3/16 The Will of the Force (Star Wars, Siri/Xanatos, rated T):Chapter 4 is up. May be abandoned because I've lost interest The Lords of Gondor (LotR, Aragorn/Boromir, rated M overall): Probably will not be updated in the near future. Unclear (Gemma Doyle Trilogy, Gemma/Kartik, rated K): Umm... pretty much over this one now. Sorry. No more. I don't usually go for those cut 'n' paste into your profile things... I find they just clutter things up. But I'm more than happy to make an exception for this one. Please read it- I hope you'll find it thought-provoking. I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian. Re-post this if you believe homophobia and transphobia is wrong. Please do your part to end it. "Writing is easy. All you have to do is stare at a blank piece of paper until your forehead bleeds." -Douglas Adams "I love deadlines. I love the whoosing noise they make as they go by." -Douglas Adams "All I can really say about writing is that I do what I do the way that I do it which is, truthfully, insane and chaotic a lot of the time. What I do have is a desire to tell a story because something deep within it is calling me on and I want to find out what that thing is. I either need to tell the story or I don't." -Libba Bray "Persons attempting to find a motive in this narrative will be prosecuted; persons attempting to find a moral in it will be banished; persons attempting to find a plot in it will be shot." -Mark Twain "Life isn't a support-system for art. It's the other way around." -Stephen King "I was working on the proof of one of my poems all morning, and took out a comma. In the afternoon I put it back again." -Oscar Wilde "You can approach the act of writing with nervousness, excitement, hopefulness, or even despair- the sense that you can never completely put on the page what's in your mind and heart. You can come to the act with your fists clenched and your eyes narrowed, ready to kick ass and take down names. You can come to it because you want a girl to marry you or because you want to change the world. Come to it any way but lightly. Let me say it again: you must not come lightly to the blank page." -Stephen King "The best moments in reading are when you come across something - a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things - that you'd thought special, particular to you. And here it is, set down by someone else, a person you've never met, maybe even someone long dead. And it's as if a hand has come out, and taken yours." -Alan Bennet My Feeling About Reviews Like every author, I love a decent, well-constructed review. I love concrit. HOWEVER, I also love to get reviews that contain neither of these things. Sure, a review that someone took time to write will make my day more than a "hey that was great I liked it", but I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST SHORT REVIEWS. Even if you just tell me that you read and liked. Even if it's two words- heck, even if it's ONE word! I'm a whore for reviews- I like quality AND quantity. I'm really happy with either one of those. (It's getting NEITHER that crushes my soul and kills my motivation.) That's right, motivation. If I post a multi-chapter that doesn't get a lot of reviews, I loose a great deal of motivation for it. So please, if you read one of my chapter fics and want to see it updated, YOU CAN INCREASE THE LIKELIHOOD OF THAT by reviewing. This is ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT if the story hasn't had very many reviews (:pets Will of the Force sadly:). One more thing- YMMV on this, but as far as I'm concerned, ADDING MY STORY TO YOUR FAVORITES DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A REVIEW. In my mind, when I get a favorite alert that isn't accompanied by a review, it shows that the person was just lazy. It's not that I don't appreciate it, BECAUSE I DO; it's just that if you liked something enough to favorite it, you ought to be able to think of something to say about it. Yanno? In a nutshell: REVIEW. SAY SOMETHING. ANYTHING. I JUST WANT TO HEAR FEEDBACK FROM LOVELY READERS. :D |
