Author has written 1 story for Hunger Games. Ultimately I am not actually sorry for party rocking. Hey there, I'm Spark. I submit a lot of SYOT characters. Hey, are you planning to murder a bunch of people at school tomorrow? Oh, it's for the yearbook. Pre-Games: Superhero Complex: Kiki Hecate, The Hours Wait a Minute, Who am I?: Kiyo, The Second Inter-District Inter-Disciplinary Events Canary in a Coal Mine (with a side of PTSD): Anne Fisticuff, Madagascar Blatantly Depressed Artist: Naomi Chalke, Red Debt It's a big rock. I can't wait to tell my friends. They don't have a rock this big. Fighting For Life: None Currently We will domesticate the shark. We will restructure society around shark ownership. This is basic fucking marxism, people. Graveyard: Quote the Raven, Dependency Issues Numero Uno: Wit Castiglione, The Poseidon Adventure, 22nd Wit was a good kid. But let us be honest here. He just existed to flesh out Study and provide an important facet to her dense psychological profile. He didn’t deserve the shit he got from her, though. Ooh, Pretty Colors: Illea Augustine, 70th Annual Hunger Games, 20th Illea was one of my first ever tributes, and thus not great? There really wasn’t much to her other than her wacky genetic disorder. But I harbor a soft spot for the ditz anyways. Faster, Pussycat, Kill, Kill: Stellar Madison, 70th Annual Hunger Games, 18th Stellar, however, unlike many of my other early tributes, was excellent. There is absolutely nothing more funny than a small child who happens to be deeply sadistic. She was hilarious and then she died. A truly astonishing character arc. Furry Time: Tatiana Kokolo, Rising to Victory, 18th Tatiana? Also good. A furry in a death competition is an inherently funny concept and it was executed pretty well in all her iterations. She went from something of a force of nature feral child to a much mellower girl who kinda just wanted to chill the hell out and make a bunch of friends? Anyways, she was great. Miss you Tatiana! Just a Really Nice Guy: Cain Pander, Survivor, 18th In retrospect, Cain doesn’t really come across as a character I made. He’s not a comic relief woman, or a woman with a dense psychological profile, or a comic relief woman with a dense psychological profile. He was just a nice dude, which made him kind of boring. He did have a kickass death though. Gender is a Fuck: Raina Ray, Let The Good Times Roll, 17th Raina is very, very near and dear to my heart. To put it simply, I am Not Cisgendered, and using a tribute as a medium to communicate some of my very complicated feelings regarding gender identity was surprisingly cathartic. Raina was a beautiful soul who only really ever got to be the person she was mere days before her death, which is kind of poetic, but mostly just sad. Baby Gay: Barnaby Mercator, We The People, 16th Barnaby was cute and gay and struggled with parental expecations. So me, essentially. Also deserved better, which is becoming a trend. Emotionally Disturbed Mad Scientist: Zibby Spooly, A Night to Remember, 12th Zibby was unbelievably great, and no, I will accept no constructive criticism on this matter. She was constantly hilarious and more than slightly unhinged, which are the two best qualities you can inject into your OCs. She died as she lived: Setting things on fire and causing a whole lot of trouble for everyone. Quote the Raven, Dependency Issues Numero Dos: Study Furudo, The Poseidon Adventure, 8th Study is, quite simply, my magnum opus. The peak of my creative ability, a shameless Frankenstein slapped together from bits of characters I liked that came out really, really cool, and also depressing. She was a hardcore rock solo in sad piano form. She was a fucking experience, and I think about her literally all the time. She is a perfect detective-gambler-raven-trauma victim, and that’s what I have to say about that. Brainwashed Pianoman: Theodore Elaine, Stores of Skill, 4th Theodore's story got cut short due to personal issues from the author, but I still very much appreciate how he was written and what he had to offer. Theodore was a terrified abuse victim with significant issues but he was doing his best to work through them and persevere. He was a good kid. Okay, well, I'm about to have a gay little breakdown, and it's all your fault. Aliveyard: Ecofascist Dumbass: Rochas Augustus, The First Inter-District Inter-Disciplinary Events, 25th Rochas was funny. What the hell more do you people want? Healer Boy: Dion Ouyang, 70th Annual Hunger Games, 1st I... still don’t really know why Dion won? He was a nice dude but like many of my other early tributes, that was pretty much the only thing he had going for him. Oh well! Death Obsessed: Hlenn Rambutan, Circle of Life, 1st Hlenn was my first victor I was actually proud to call mine. She was a poet, an artist, and a bit of a death fetishist. As her friends died all around her, though, her relationship to decay developed out of worship and into respect, fear, and understanding. Her unique voice was constantly compelling to read. I’m actually proud of having birthed her, and I hope she lives a long and prosperous life. Survivalist Conwoman: Meenah Turbine, Descent Into Madness, 1st Meenah was initially envisioned as a sort of trickster, and she remained one, but she grew so much more. Meenah did everything to survive. She ate spiders off the corpse of a boy she killed. She spent hours crawling through a hole barely tight enough to breathe just to keep living. She suspended herself between two dead bodies, inches from death, waiting for her escape. She did absolutely everything for just another day, and I am so, so proud of her. Fire bad. Tree pretty. |
