![]() Author has written 2 stories for Harry Potter, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Just a girl who loves reading & creating stories! So I guess if you wanted to know more about me, this is the place to find out. I grew up playing dolls with my little sister and creating stories and tales with her. I was usually the mastermind. Reading was okay when I was a kid, but I hated school and anything other than playing with my friends or with our dolls. I even tried to tattoo "I hate paragraphs!" on my hand in yellow sharpie when I was in the third grade. Ironically, I've written thousands upon thousands of paragraphs in my lifetime, which hasn't been that long. I won't disclose my age, because it's not polite to ask a lady how old she is, but I will say that I'm a college student striving for a business degree with a minor in English. I started reading Harry Potter in the fourth grade, and it essentially changed my life. Books were COOL! They told stories and created a world entirely personal, yet at the same time, universal. I spent about 75% of my time in the fifth grade reading any books I could get my hands on in our classroom. In the sixth grade, I decided I wanted to be a writer. I was a terrible one. So bad, in fact, that my teachers considered putting me into a slowed class for kids who couldn't do math or literature. But I kept reading. I devoured Harry Potter, Guardians of Ga'Hoole, The Chronicles of Narnia, Warriors, Twilight, Sarah Dessen, Jodi Picoult, Becca Fitzpatrick, the Left Behind series, the Belgariad, and discovered I had a passion for series books. My best friend and I spent most of middle school and all of high school creating stories together. I won an award from the governor of my state in my junior year of high school for being the Young Writer of the Year, proving all of my teachers wrong that I was a bad writer. I had written my first 400-page novel by the time I was 15, a second novel by the time I was 17, and nearly finished a third by the time I was 19. Then writer's block struck. I hardly wrote anything for a year. School, personal trials, and lack of time robbed me of my favorite hobby. Writing had become more than a pastime at that point; it had become a part of my identity, the same way singing has become a part of Celine Dion's image. I wasn't me without my writing. But I just couldn't write. So I started writing about whatever I wanted, even stupid stuff. And I ended up going back to my roots and writing about Harry Potter. J.K. Rowling said she had no interest in writing the prequel to Harry Potter. She even said that she hates prequels. I personally can't get enough of prequels, sequels, and equels. I love to read, and I love to write. And so, the Fifth Marauder was born. Maybe I'll eventually post other stories to Fanfiction. But so far I only have time and inspiration for this one project. And so far, it's gotten my creative juices pumping again for the first time in a long, long time. I was sorted into Hufflepuff House and my wand is 10 inches, Rowan, Unicorn tail core, surprisingly swishy flexibility. I always pictured myself as a Ravenclaw like Amber or a Gryffindor like Hermione, but apparently I'm meant for the house of "finders". Disney is my childhood and I still listen and jam to most of their songs. Alan Menken is a genius. Most of all, the number one in my life is Jesus Christ. He is my Lord and Savior, and He is the defining point in my life. Nothing means more to me. I don't have religion. I have faith. And it is the only thing that keeps me going, even more than writing. So, please, delve into my stories and enjoy! I would love to hear your reviews. Happy reading! ~~Charlie Soules~~ (yes this is a pen name futurejkrowling on TUMBLR |
