"Magnus had said warlocks were avaricious, possessive beings. Well, Alec wasn't a warlock, but he'd be damned if he let anyone touch the best thing that had ever happened to him." The one where warlocks are being murdered, Magnus is a target, and Alec really isn't supposed to be getting involved (but does anyway).

Five-year-old Max makes a great discovery. Nobody is impressed, least of all Alec. It ends very tragically - or not tragically at all, depending on your point of view.

Sequel to Payment. When Magnus told him "In nine or ten years, come find me and then we'll talk," he probably hadn't meant "Nearly get yourself killed by a Greater Demon so I have to heal you again." Alec was better at this when he was nine.

One-shot: Alec has been "gallivanting off at all hours of the night armed only with a few weapons and facing all sorts of demons" for the past three days. Magnus has been worried, until Alec shows up at his door. It's tough loving a Shadowhunter.
