![]() Author has written 93 stories for Doctor Who, Bible, Gilmore Girls, Beauty and the Beast, Misc. Books, Forever, Back to the Future, X-Men, X-Men: The Movie, West Wing, Misc. Tv Shows, Thirteen Reasons Why, Superman, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, Alex + Ada, Avengers, Runaways, Thor, Thor, Captain America, Marvel, Norse Mythology, Ironman, and Age of Adaline. don't worry, catching up on my 101 drabbles* "There’s rivalry between the Harry Potter fans and the Twilight fans. And Twilight fans think they’re much cooler than the Harry Potter fans. And I’m like, I dunno why, they’d all get their *butt* kicked by the Doctor Who fans." Craig Ferguson *So... I've not watched any new Doctor Who episodes since the series 9 finale. (Including Husbands of River Song, but that's more an aversion to endings than annoyance- if I never watch it, River will be back any episode now, right?) I think I'll remain on hiatus until Mr. Chibnall takes over, so for now, I've not seen the last 2 Christmas episodes, Class, or any of the new series except the Pilot, which just didn't excite me like the show once did. I'll remain within the previous 52 years I have to play with for now, just don't expect me to understand or reference anything new.* My likes: Well-written crack. Creative AU stories. Introspection. Not into slash or femlash. Generally refuse to even start reading a fic if the summary is misspelled or there's already poor grammar (ie: confusing there/they're/their). Though I make some exceptions, if the summary has something along the lines of "I suck at summaries" within it, I rarely read it. DOCTOR WHO: The TARDIS. Enough said. River/Doctor= my OTP Amy/Doctor= my BrOTP Rory is my favourite New companion. And so is River. All the Ponds, really. Ian and Barbara are my favourite Classic companions- at least so far. He was an intelligent action hero, she was an clever woman who took action and command and argued with the Doctor when she felt he was wrong and solved her own problems when possible, never wallowing in her situation even when she was scared- she really knew how to be damsel in distress: don't scream, just be proactive whilst waiting to be saved. Or try to save yourself. Twelve/Missy I like stories involving the Doctor and family- especially his own (including TimeTot fics, Jenny, the Ponds, and Susan). I like every Doctor I've seen so far, but am not caught up with much of the Classic series. Jack and Martha need to come back at least for cameos in the Doctor's life. The only Doctor I've liked faster than Jon Pertwee was Peter Capaldi! But don't get me wrong- the others had me fairly quickly. These two were just nearly instantaneous. I've also been on a fierce Time Baby kick recently, and I ain't even bovvered. Superheroes: Favourite Male: Superman, Nightcrawler, Wolverine, Spiderman (Peter Parker) Favourite Female: Wasp (Janet Pym, née van Dyne), X-23, Emma Frost, Kitty Pryde Favourite Team: X-Men Favourite Villain: Mystique (films, not comics), Loki, Emma Frost Favourite Ships: Beast/Abigail Brand Black Widow/Hawkeye Black Widow/Captain America Steve Rogers/Peggy Carter Mystique/Azazel Peter Parker/Gwen Stacey NOTP: Charles Xavier/Moira McTaggert (that's just weird and no) Thor/Jane Foster Mystique/Beast (he likes her because she likes him, just as long as she's not herself) Wolverine/Jean Grey (aside from despising "love at first sight," I'm a big fan of X-MEN Evolution, in which she's a teenager and this is just gross). Black Widow/Hulk Peter Parker/ Mary Jane Random Ships that we need more of/need to start: Jack/Rose (which I dub Boe Wolf) Master/Barbara Wright (she wouldn't let him get away with anything!) Moira McTaggert (new films)/Wolverine Moira McTaggert/Magneto Storm/Nightcrawler Wasp/Iron Man Being Human Annie/Mitchell Miss Marple Joan Hickson will forever be my Miss Marple Sherlock Sherlock/Molly ========== Sherlock/Irene ========== Sherlock/Janine ========== Sherlock/John= my other BrOTP Lord of the Rings Since when does Arwen have such a large role in the stories? Roswell Cliffhanger (Michael/Isabel) Broadchurch Alec Hardy/Ellie Miller=BROTP The Big Bang Theory Sheldon/Leslie Winkle- It could happen... Sheldon loves Amy Frozen Hans/Elsa Torchwood Owen Harper/Toshiko Sato =========== Jack Harkness/Gwen Cooper Harry Potter Fred/Hermione ========== George/Hermione ========== Luna/Ron ========== Film: Harry/Luna Firefly Mal/Saffron ========== Simon/Inara Still haven't tried writing stories in these fandoms, but all in due time. Forever Henry/Abigail BROTP Henry/Jo Anything Abe The West Wing CJ/Danny Bible Non-parodies or mockeries Modern day parallels I dislike: Jane Foster- with the exception of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, I have great dislike for this character in general (a woman who leaves her family to wait for another man triggered me in the comics) and I hated the way they treated Natalie Portman's character in the films, I was excited that she finally "broke up with him." Very much not looking forward to the next Thor film). Clara- I just can't figure out her personality as it completely changed every week. So confused by her that I can't even begin to write any story with her in it, so with the exception of perhaps a passing reference, she will never be in my works (at least 11's version, she's a tiny bit more fleshed out with 12). [Although I should note I think Jenna-Louise Coleman is freakishly brilliant as an actress, it's just the modern Clara character I can't stand at all.] Though I'd come to appreciate bits of the Clara Show, I don't know if I can watch yet another inferior series of what was once Doctor Who. Rose/Doctor= my absolute NOTP. This one is because, and I realize I may be dense, but I didn't see their love as romantic until that completely unexpected (for me- not joking) kiss in Journey's End. I truly thought he loved her as a best friend. (To me- she'd outright said they weren't a couple, even though, yes, that was at the beginning but they never changed that stance, she always went back to Mickey & flirted with new men. He had Madame de Pompadour who he treated very differently & acted differently around. Plus, he is 900 and she's 19- it truly didn't even enter my mind & I find the idea a bit icky. I even assumed when he briefly thought her pregnant it was because she and Mickey had gotten married and that was her telling him- again, not kidding). I completely thought their love platonic, perhaps with barely a hint of under-the-surface tension between 9 and Rose occasionally, so do NOT be surprised when my Doctor & Rose stories reflect that attitude of "BEST friends, but JUST friends." That being said, I do like Rose as a character, especially during the 9th Doctor's tenure. Hate the ship. Adore the friendship. Madame Vastra- Don't ask why, I have no idea. I like the Paternoster Gang without... the main detective? She just annoys me so much!. But, I could watch Strax & Jenny all day Note- "That's Not How It Works- Yeah It Is" Hit over 36,000 views this last week- THANK YOU TO ALL WHO'VE READ IT!!!!!! Also- "Two of You" is under revision, as my lovely beta has been giving me wonderful pointers to more clearly take the story where I want it to go, and cleaning up some Parallel World problems. Don't worry- it's all fleshed out and will hopefully end up being absolutely worth the wait... but there will definitely be a wait, as well as for the other stories until I can catch up on some prompts and some editing. "Not All That's Over is Past" will also be updated as soon as possible, but upon reviewing it, a detail in a later chapter ended up destroying the entire vision for this story I had in my mind. I have to figure out how to fix it, and though there will be no major character changes, I do have to rework this story sans said destructive detail, so again, that may take me a little more time than anticipated. Fun facts/Random, unsolicited opinions: Despite what you might think from the majority of my works, my username has absolutely nothing to do with Doctor Who. I've lived in a lot of different places with a lot of different dialects. So I'll try to always choose the most universal terms and phrases, to the best of my ability when writing. Firmly of the belief that a drabble is a work consisting of 100 words, not any random amount under 1000. Rants: Yes, I read Twilight. Yes, it did legitimately give me nightmares. What kind of relationship is this?! We're supposed to root for the 100 year old who's trying to not kill the teenage girl he's stalking? I don't... understand where the romance is... Hopefully, any person she'd deemed worthy to date/marry/have a relationship with would have felt that killing her would have been a bad thing. Because you know what is romantic? Not having homicidal thoughts toward your partner. But maybe that's just me. I have a VERY large WIP folder and an even larger "ideas" folder worth of writing. Ergo my constant procrastination. The Hobbit: what are they thinking making three movies out of the one amazing book?! Sure, it's my personal favourite, but not nearly enough material to warrant 3 movies. Perhaps make a tv series about the Silmarillion. More material, more fun, lends itself to special effects and vignettes. Frozen was so entertaining. The end. Skip over the flaws. Despite it's now-common usage as a verb, "impact" is a noun. Unless referring to the act of being constipated, or "being impacted," the verb is "to affect." However, the verbal usage of the noun is gaining loose recognition due to its overuse, but is still technically incorrect. "Alright" is not all right. There are some characters in fandom who I've begun to despise. Not because I despised their characters in canon- quite the opposite actually. But overzealous fans (shippers, mostly) can be so aggressive and ruin great characters with their single-minded contempt of anyone who disagrees with them or who doesn't ship their couple. As a rule, I won't tag relationships that aren't in the fic, but I may tag relationships that are (though not when it might give away spoilers). EG: I won't put "Not Doctor/Reinette" in the summary, but I may put "Reinette/Doctor" if their relationship is relevant, or just tag them in a pairing. I will, however, usually try to explain the rating & occasionally the genre in my summaries. Oh- and if I'm responding to you, as I always try to do, or writing my Author's Notes, I apologize in advance, but I tend to babble- a lot. But I like talking fandom, so if you want to chat or have any questions, feel free to PM me. I'm also on Tumblr, AO3, LiveJournal, Whofic (Doctor Who), and FictionPress (Original Works) under the same username. Thanks for stopping by! |
