![]() Author has written 4 stories for Portal. If you want to contact me on Twitter, the username I've dedicated to my fanfiction is DeepDarkDepths. For those wishing to keep their messages private and not wanting to have to worry about the character limit, I've set up the account so that I can receive Direct Messages from you even if we both aren't following each other. Currently working on: Close to the Edge Ch. 12 About me (an old description, will be updated at some point) I'm a huge fan of music and video games but don't really think of myself as a writer. Nevertheless, after I read my very first Portal fanfic I've had an urge inside me to attempt writing a few stories of my own since I have a couple of ideas and don't know anyone who would write those stories for me. I write first and foremost for my own enjoyment, but I also try to guide my writing into a direction I think others might be able to appreciate as well. Currently I'm only interested in writing Portal related stories mainly because a) I love Portal, and b) because Portal has very few characters and the storyline isn't too complicated but also has a lot of room for interpretation. I also find it difficult to write characters in a way that they stay completely faithful to how they were portrayed in the original story, so the fact that Chell is pretty much a complete mystery allows me to have a lot of freedom which makes it easier for me to write. Portal also has several aspects that limit where I can go with stories, or at least that's how it can seem on the surface, but I enjoy the challenge these limitations sometimes pose and attempt to work around them. My writing concentrates mostly on dialogue and characters' thoughts rather than action and adventure, but in the future I will attempt to come up with stories that have at least some explosions and firefights as well, LOL. Also, instead of always trying to move the plot forward I sometimes am perfectly content just concentrating on trying to convey a single moment in time and letting the reader try to experience the atmosphere and the feelings of the characters as if they were living the moment themselves. Some of my stories are fueled by a single powerful scene that I've imagined in my mind but I don't think I'm that good with words to be honest, so trying to get those most important moments across is very challenging for me but I definitely try my best. Any and all feedback is welcome as long as it isn't offensive and is helpful/encouraging/constructive in some way. I'm also perfectly willing to answer any questions you might have related to any of my stories be the questions big or small. If you just want to discuss something like video games or music, I'm up for that as well. |
