Author has written 4 stories for Covert Affairs, and Castle. I discovered the whole fan fiction arena in 2012. Had no idea this sort of activity was going on. I find it both interesting and a challenge. I confess to being astonished by the story telling abilities I've found here. There are some hugely talented authors. And some that are ... not. I'm a retired Space Power Systems engineer. Worked for Boeing. 35 year dream career - never did anything twice, nearly always trying to do what had not been done before. Loved it. Also an Army veteran - electronics tech - no combat - two years in Japan. My hobbies are reading, hunting, shooting in Action Pistol and IDPA competition, reloading, metal working, wood working, and our horses, dogs, and other pets. I write because it's fun and a learning experience. I'm trying to keep my brain from turning into oatmeal from disuse, so I decided to do this, then write a novel. I finished the novel in 2016. i doubt it will ever be published, but writing it was fun. I'm a gun guy. If you have questions about guns, or need data about guns or a particular gun, for something you are writing, PM me. If I don't know the answer, I'll look it up. I won't guess. I've written thousands of pages of technical documentation and reports of failure investigations, but never any fiction. One doesn't pay an engineer to write fiction (except possibly in the climate sciences). The support I received while writing has been positive and extremely helpful. I've had a lot of help with the details of writing fiction that are so very different from non-fiction from two knowledgeable mentors on this site. If I've commented on your writing, please know I've not attached any indispensable ego to the commentary. It's intended to be constructive. My stories will be action oriented. My two rules for retirement are:
My bride of 50 years and I have 3 children, 10 grand children, and 4 great grandchildren. We also have a female Yorkie puppy, in the picture. The Yorkie's name is Beckett. My nephew, who lives next door (which in the country is about 150 yards away) also has a Yorkie - his name is Castle. |
