Author has written 12 stories for Hunger Games, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Undertale. Hello everyone. I decided I have been long overdue on a profile update, and my house-elf has finally agreed to type this one out for me. Perhaps I should give her a raise next year. My pen name is Julie Tulips. It has been invented when I was in fifth grade and was writing a monthly 'to be continued' story in my school's rather terrible student-run newspaper. (No one else wanted the job). I decided to go mysterious and incognito and, indeed, not one student guessed at the writer behind the alias. The paper crashed, eventually; however, the name stuck around in my mind. I am nineteen years old, female, and living somewhere in Canada. No, we do not say 'aboot'; nor do we ride polar bears everywhere, as marvelous as that would be. I am a university freshman, studying all things sciences, and somewhat similar to Hermione in my study habits, which is usually the reason for my slow updates (as well as my own pure laziness). My dream is to devote my life to research, but nothing will keep me from being complete fandom trash on the side! Note: I am also part of a collab fanfiction account where I do parody/humor commentary on some... interesting... fanfics like My Immortal with my friends (pen names Alexsis and Annalisa). This account is RisingGrace and you should all check it out. My fandoms (in no particular order) : Harry Potter, Doctor Who, The Lord of the Rings, Undertale, The Hunger Games, Divergent, Merlin, Sherlock, The Fault In Our Stars, Looking For Alaska, Dan and Phil, The Maze Runner, The Book Thief... probably forgetting some. I also wanted just to note that If Death Could Sing will probably be the slowest-updated of all my fanfictions because of the forethought and planning each chapter entails, especially since I've decided to make it a bit longer and more complicated and interesting. I hope my readers will find it somewhere within themselves to appreciate this instead of throwing various objects in my general direction. (And yes, the title WILL mean something. Hush.) Finally, just a bit of fandom-y info about yours truly. I primarily consider myself a Slytherin because of ambition; however, it's not that linear. Since I've decided on that house, I have changed drastically in personality and now consider myself a Hufflepuff. So, I suppose you could refer to me as a Slytherin-Hufflepuff convert. I think the Sorting Hat Sorts you based on both who you are and what qualities you value in life and would like to achieve. Slytherin is who I am; Hufflepuff is what I would like to be. I lack patience and humility, both of which are qualities that pull be towards wanting to be a Hufflepuff based on my values. However, I can, I think, claim loyalty; hopefully, my friends can testify that. However, no one is truly one house. I definitely consider myself bookish, and although I've never been tested I would hope that if I needed to be brave, I could. I don't know. Hopefully, I never will. My favorite character in Harry Potter is Draco Malfoy. Not because I find him hot (although...:)). I don't think I'd like him if he was a real person, either. I like him because he is a very literarily complex character, and I love characters with multiple dimensions to explore. I tried to bring that out in "Little Girl". That is the fanfiction I am by far the most proud of. For the same reason, I love the character of Frodo Baggins. What can you expect from me, other than the continuation of existing fanfictions? Perhaps a bit more branching off into Draco Malfoy character explorations, some (perhaps even decently written this time) OC work, and some more Lord of the Rings. That's my plan for now. Also, my apologies, but Prim's Journey is discontinued. However, I will leave it up on the site, because it was my first fanfiction and I believe I was fourteen if I remember correctly. Or twelve. Probably fourteen. Sorry if anyone was invested in that. Just imagine she died and the journal's broken off. Oh no, wait, that's terrible... poor little Prim. Anyway, thanks for sticking around everyone!!! - Julie Tulips |
