But on April 17th of 2002, a Wednesday of all days, Molly decides that maybe it's worth it after all. Because of a groan in the alley way, because of blue eyes begging for something more, pleading for life like a prayer. He's in between when she finds him, old track marks on his spindly arms should warn her away, but she can't stop. Her heart races as she flutters in front of him,

"In danger? It was one dance!" Molly cried, flinging Sherlock's beloved Belstaff on to the couch and revealing the deep purple floor length gown. "It's a dog, Sherlock, not the plague." "I would have preferred that." He retorted, his dressing gown swishing angrily behind him.

He really can't. He'd like to think that he could have tried for her, but that would be a lie. The only good he's ever done in his life was walking away while leaving her untainted by his blood soaked hands. Inspecting his finely trimmed nails on his way out the door, he has the air of confidence. His men do not know the hole that he has backed himself into thanks to the mousy woma

"You're not a dragonfly." "Silly boy! I can't fly at all!" Her voice tinkles like chimes in the breeze. She walks into his outstretched palm and does a tiny turn for him. "No wings for me."

"Yeah, I've moved on…" Maybe if she said it enough times, it'd be true.

Touch had never been so vital to him as it was now, her teeth scraping down his jaw line and capturing his bottom lip before he pulled her in for a hungry kiss. Their teeth clacked together hurriedly, and he tried to tell himself to be gentle with her. Gentle for her.

So much faith in one man, tossed aside because he can't find a new habit. Trust that he'd earned from her, tarnished by his own hands. If she rolled up his sleeves, she knew she would see the tracks, but she can't she just isn't that strong. She wants the believe in Sherlock Holmes. Believe in the man she knows he is and not the abusing druggie before her.
