![]() Author has written 2 stories for Spider-Man. Greetings. I'm Alex, a twenty-three-year-old writer/fencer/runner finding herself increasingly pressed for time and saddled with the feeling that she's only in college to look like she's doing something until she gets published. 1/18/11 Again, please accept my deepest and most sincere apologies for yet another stupidly long wait between updates (about two years this time around). This probably won't gain me much forgiveness, but rest assured that I actually do have an explanation. In the spirit of complete honesty: I've been planning over and over again to update with something approaching regularity, but for the past four years I've been devoting most of my time to a YA novel that (after nine months of querying and a diagnosis of bipolar II) finally found an agent. I've spent the past three months working nonstop on revisions (and happen to be writing this right now in a near-zombified state), and since I'm about ten words away from getting the @#*&ing thing finished I thought I'd post this... and stuff. Anyway, here's my plan: As soon as I'm done with revision hell, and all of the assorted college-related drudgery (ain't January fun?), and as soon I get a reasonable amount of free time, I'm going to finish up SGII and then completely overhaul both stories. There's some crazy style shifts and developments (and really, really bad prose-- writing when I was fourteen... ahem. Yeah.) that I'm seriously embarrassed about, and since I've got a pretty good idea of the result I want (mostly the same plotlines, but infinitely more badass) I don't think it should take too long. (But don't hold me to that. Please.) So, in short: finish up with revisions of Hopefully-Career-Starting-Grad-School-Avoiding-Awesome-YA Novel, finish SGII, redo both, and then embark on the (final?) Mayday story of the trilogy(?). Allons-y! 4/20/11 Free time! Endlich, oder?! Revisions are sent out, late papers turned in, fencing competition over, and assignments I can put off until the weekend! When it comes to The Book all that remains is the nail-biting waiting, but otherwise, everything's finally, finally good to go. Chapter 25 should be ready by Sunday (5/1/11) at the latest. Tally ho! |
