I do not thank people for reviews individually on my story pages, nor do I demand reviews in exchange for continuing. I appreciate everyone who comments on a story, and if you leave an in-depth assessment I'll try to respond to you personally via email. But I get very annoyed when I load up a chapter page to find 50 lines of replies to individual reviews and 45 lines of actual story. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. So I'm not going to do that. As for holding the next part ransom to reviews, I think that's so asinine as to be insulting, so I won't do that either. So let me be perfectly clear up on the top of the page:

Thank you for reviewing, even if you don't like my story. I'm sorry I can't reply to you personally unless you've left a detailed critique, but I do appreciate your taking the time to state your opinion. Your encouragement inspires me to keep writing.

I should also note that for each review I receive, I try to post at least one review of someone else's stuff (not necessarily the same person who reviewed me). That just seems fair to me.

TO AUTHORS OF 'HUMOR' STORIES:

You are not as funny as you think you are. Please keep that in mind when you write.
