![]() Author has written 3 stories for Sookie Stackhouse/Southern Vampire Mysteries. I love HBO's True Blood, so while I was twiddling my thumbs waiting for Season 3 to begin, I went out and bought Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse Series. I devoured the books in a couple of weeks and wanted more! Luckily, Season 3 of True Blood has been giving me my fix, but only just. I was happy to find some great FanFic for Harris's stories (thanks, everyone!) when I just couldn't wait for Sunday night. Then I figured I'd try my pen, too. This is my first attempt at writing, so please be kind. That said, I'd love to get feedback! I'm enjoying trying to write my own spin off, but it's lots of hard work as well. Since I know there are some great writers in this community, I would love to get pointers and constructive criticisms. Hope you enjoy my story as much as I've enjoyed yours! I just signed up to be a beta-reader. If you have an SVM story and want a second pair eyes (and third, I wear glasses:) to look it over, please let me know. About Dead or Undead: This story was my first attempt at writing. I love the characters Charlaine Harris created, and I love the way she tells her stories, so I tried hard to stay true to both. I know my own personal takes on the characters probably skewed things, but hopefully the result is still entertaining. I didn't have a Beta Reader for this story, so all the typos and inconsistencies are my fault (sorry!). I owe huge thanks to everyone who reviewed the story, especially y'all who reviewed as I posted. The comments were so encouraging and just the fact that I knew y'all were reading made me want to see this through to the end. I didn't use to leave comments on stories, even when I loved them, but now that I understand just how important they are to the writers, I'm mending my ways! If you read my story and like it, please consider writing a review! Also, since this is my first shot, if you read it and there are things you don't like or wish I'd done differently, please please let me know that as well. I really do appreciate (constructive) criticisms. About Hagar at Hooligan's: This is meant to be a fun short after Dead or Undead, following CH's great idea of short side stories between books. Hope you like it! About Dead or Deader: I think I found my new hobby. Writing is almost as addictive as reading these stories! I'm now planning out a sequel to my first story, Dead or Undead. Since I won't have quite as much time to work on it, I expect to have only one or two updates per week (otherwise there would be far too many typos and plot holes). If you read it as I write, I would love to get your feedback as I go! 11/12 -- So sorry for the long delay before the ending. I had a bit of an emergency come up, but luckily everything got settled and the holiday helped me to catch up. Hope it didn't break the flow too much for everyone who was reading along. |
