I can definitely give another pair of eyes to catch grammar and spelling errors, convoluted sentences, and inappropriate word choices. However, I really like reading to check for consistency in voice and style, whatever your voice and style happen to be. I'm also happy to help with plot points, looking for ways to spice up a "filler" chapter, and adding in a bit of humor at unexpected moments. I try to be fast and thorough, but if I have to choose one, I go with the latter.

I'm pretty good at editing for grammar, sentence structure and word choice. I have an annoying habit as a reader of often spotting plot holes, but that will be a help to you as a writer. I'm also good at adapting to the story and style of the writer to spot character inconsistencies. I can provide as many or as few suggestions as you like with regard to story structure, plot points, character arcs, etc, and I'm happy to go over a story outline as well as a near-finished product. I work quickly to help you get your story out faster, and I don't mind taking multiple passes on the same material.

I'm likely to lose interest in a story without much depth (e.g. weak shadows of characters thrown together for the sole purpose of sex scenes). I also find it hard to follow stories that suddenly change the canon mid-story, whether it's CH's or their own. It's great to have AU, but my preference is for the universe not to be altered in the middle of a story.

For multi-chapters, I have a preference for a story that is planned out. That doesn't mean you need to know what will happen at each chapter, but if the author has a general sense of where she/he would like the story to go and a vague idea of how to get it there, then that will help me to provide more useful feedback.br /

For one-shots, I prefer stories over stream-of-consciousness or poetry. Those are often great to read, but I would prefer not to be the beta.

If the story is just an excuse for two characters to bump pelvises, then count me out. However, if there is a good story with lots of pelvis bumping, then sign me up. Prose only, no poetry please (love to read it, not to edit it).
