![]() Author has written 40 stories for Skins, and Harry Potter. I am what could be described as a "Silver Surfer"(!), so I am not part of the demographic group that either 'Skins' or 'Harry Potter' were made for. I live about 20 miles South of London and started watching Skins with the second season in the UK. This was after seeing the "Maxxie dancing" poster on a bus shelter. Since one of my many interests is ballet, the first name that entered my mind when I saw it was Rudolf Nureyev. I investigated it and decided 'Skins' might be worth watching. It was! After seeing the first episode, I obtained the first season DVDs and binge watched them. Like many others, I was in love with Cassie by the end of episode 2. After the second season ended I really missed Sid and Cassie. I found www.fanfiction.ws. I was disappointed with the really tragic endings of some of the Sid/Cassie stories. I registered with the site and commented on some of them. After reviewing a few, I decided that it would be a good idea to write one or two myself. I have written some happier stories about this lovely couple, although neither "Sweet Sorrow" nor "Heartbreak on Brandon Hill" are exactly cheerful and "Cassie" is totally tragic. In many of my stories, my aim is to bring Sid and Cassie together as lifetime companions. After all they've been through, they deserve that. Recently. I have been attracted to Neville and Luna (Harry Potter) as a special couple. In "Changing Partners", I have brought them in to help bring Sid and Cassie back together, eventually reuniting with each other. Both Luna (Harry Potter) and Cassie (Skins) seem to have these qualities: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, trustfulness, gentleness and self-control. This is why they seem to be such wonderful people. More recently, I have been attracted to the character of "Water Bottle Girl", whose real name is Katie. I see her as a dark haired version of Cassie, also Cassie's closest female friend after she fell out with Michelle. In "Caterina", I have paired her with Maxxie. My 'Skins' and 'Harry Potter' stories (roughly in order of occurrence within the 'Skins' and HP universes): Stories are canon unless indicated otherwise. Skins stories Sid's Story: This is an account of Sid's state of mind through his rather erratic courtship of Cassie. It starts before the beginning of series one and goes through to their final blissful reunion after series seven. It will be a long ('T' rated) one-shot. Ideal Girl: The story of the conflict between Sid's heart and his mind as a result of meeting Cassie. It will start in canon, but will stray into A/U territory as it will record the adventures of Sid and Cassie in the USA and their break-up in continues to the reunion of Sid and Cassie at a Ministry of Magic conference at Highclere Castle after their two years of loneliness. I have classified this as a 'Skins' story as the 'Harry Potter characters only play a very minor part at the end of the story. A Chance Encounter: Sid meets Cassie on Brandon Hill between Abigail's party and Michelle's. They realise that they are attracted to each other. Silly Billy: Sid is in hospital after starving himself for a week. Cassie visits him. This is in effect a possible sequel to just-another-writer20's "Wouldn't it be lovely". It will be AU as Sid's mum has not walked out and Cassie hasn't attempted suicide. The situation forces the couple to discuss their relationship and declare their love for each other. Heartbreak on Brandon Hill: Jal explains to Cassie what actually happened at Tony's choir concert and reassures Cassie that Sid does love her. Life in Restoration: Formerly named 'Katie'. (In Progress) This story explores the intense relationship between Cassie and Katie (A K A Water Bottle Girl). At the clinic, they meet another couple; Simon, the young man Cassie made use of to tease Sis in S1 E7, and Susan, Simon's girlfriend. They are both in the clinic due to zero self-image and low body weight. Both couples make the most of a liberal attitude to dress codes and activities during 'Happy Time'. It is 'M' rated because of references to nudity and Lesbian sex. Two Pairs of Eyes: A/U This is a "What if?" story. What if Sid took Cassie with him to help find Tony in S1 E7, instead of just walking out on her? 'M' rated because of language and a sexual encounter. Yes, Sid 'pops his cherry' at last, but falls deeply in love with Cassie first. Sweet Sorrow: An account of the night time meeting on Brandon Hill after Anwar's party. They declare their love for each other before their tearful farewells. The Golden Halo: This is an 'Alternative Universe' story. Instead of going to South Wales for Michelle's birthday, Sid stays at home. He is in his house when Cassie calls. They have sex and make up their differences. The first chapter of this story is a retelling, with some background and an extension of the plot, of Untouchablerave's story "Golden". The 'Golden Halo' of the title was Cassie's golden hair, backlit by the Sun, framing her lovely face. Sunday Heartbreak This is a longish one-shot, set between the embarrassing return of Sid and Michelle to Bristol after the disastrous trip to the Gower, and the evening Cassie slapped Sid's face in the night club. It involves Cassie and Katie (Water Bottle Girl). It explains "Three days of great sex, guilty sex for the rest". It is in effect a sequel to "She's Gone" by SoPhIeBuFfY4EvEr Reconciliation (Canon, unlike "The Golden Halo") This begins with Sid's confrontation with Cassie in S2 E7 and is in effect a sequel to "Sunday Heartbreak". Sid and Cassie make up their differences and repair their relationship. After many false starts, Sid finally gets to 'bed' his beloved Cassie. Sweet Discovery A different take on the first intimate interaction between Sid and Cassie. They enjoy the sun and each other's skin, have a shower and a meal. Then they slowly discover each other. A bit of romantic (and sexy) fluff. It takes place not long after Sid's confrontation with Cassie. It will be 'M' rated for obvious reasons. Gentleness One-shot. A bit of sweet romantic fluff between this sweet couple. Sid and Cassie spend a day and evening together and Sid discovers Cassie's new found liking for spicy food. They open up about their feelings for each other. Sunbathing: A one shot account of an afternoon spent soaking up the sun and each other on Clifton down. Part of the process of Cassie 'getting to know Sid - a lot'. This one will definitely be 'M' rated. Well, you don't expect Sid to hold back after spending so much time with a naked or nearly naked Cassie. Sid and Cassie This is the story of the time Sid spent with his lovely Cassie immediately before 'he just left' in S2 E8. The couple are happy and completely in love with each other. It finishes with Cassie's encounter with a very stressed Jal. Reunion: Tony offers to 'carry Michelle's books'. They make up their differences and repair their relationship. First (and Last) Date: This story, originally called "First Date" is set during the time Chris was in Hospital following his 'warning' bleed (end of S2 E8). Cassie wants to spend a long time with Sid away from the 'gang' and particularly Tony. She wants him to experience a promenade concert in London. Devotion A/U this is another "what if" story. It starts with the premise that Cassie had the presence of mind to contact her beloved Sid once the ambulance crew had taken Chris's body away. He manages to console and pacify her. Sid, Cassie and Jal have to break the sad news to Chris's irascible estranged father, Graham Miles. Effy's Realisation: Effy has sensed that Freddie is dead. It dawns on her that he has been murdered. Fortunately, her friends, particularly Pandora, are on hand to console her. It also explains why Effy was so 'together' in Skins FIRE. JJ's Recovery: JJ is in a downward spiral now that he has lost his two best friends. Freddie's sister Karen befriends JJ and temporarily relieves his depression until Edward and Celia find a somewhat unusual diversion. This story is, in effect a prequel to 'Love in the Baltic'. Manhattan: This story has been rendered 'Alternative Universe' by the advent of Skins PURE. It describes Sid finding Cassie in New York, her joy at meeting him, their week of bliss and their joyous homecoming. In the Big Apple, they see the sights, go to a symphony concert and enjoy Mamma Mia. Clifton Bridge: This is also now 'Alternative Universe' due to PURE. Sid finds Cassie intending to throw herself off the Clifton Suspension Bridge. He talks her out of suicide and they settle their problems over a coffee. It was actually written because I felt guilty proof reading my stories in our local Caffè Nero while referring to Starbucks in my stories, so I had to think of a scenario where Sid and Cassie would visit Caffè Nero in Clifton. While writing this one, I was approached by a charity collector for the Samaritans. I had to give! Oblivion: This is post PURE. Sid has returned to Bristol, but is still heartbroken over losing Cassie. He encounters Jakob's 'Oblivion' website, sees the pictures of Cassie and knows he HAS to find her. He contacts Maxxie. This was written in parallel with "Caterina" and has been 'synchronised' with it. Revised in April 2015 with an epilogue, which brings Sid and Cassie together for all time. Caterina: This was written in response to a forum post from a contributor in Australia (Sweetcheeks644) requesting a story about Maxxie and a girl. It was originally called Francesca, but during a comment exchange with Danielle Jadelyn on YouTube, she said that 'Water Bottle Girl's' name was Katie in the script. Calling her 'Katie' would have caused confusion with the older Fitch twin in gen. 2, so she was not named in the credits. Since I feel that she looked Italian, I have renamed her 'Caterina' Her full name being: Caterina Maria Cassini. Incidentally, calling her 'Francesca' has already made a reviewer think I was writing about Franky from series 5 and 6. This story was written in parallel with 'Oblivion'. I realised when re-reading it that the first two chapters told the story of the first verse of the Men at Work song "Down Under". "...Head full of zombie, I met a strange lady, she made me nervous. She took me in and gave me breakfast". (!) An Evening with Katie: This is the story of the Friday night meeting between Katie (Water Bottle Girl) and Cassie mentioned in "Caterina". They had been really close friends until Cassie fled to the USA. They exchange stories and Cassie experiences emotional and physical release in Katie's comforting and reassuring company. It is a (very) long one-shot. The story fits between 'Caterina' and 'Oblivion', and fills a few gaps in the 'PURE' narrative. Gavin: This was written following a suggestion by another fanfiction member. It concerns a relationship between Grace and an OC, whose name is Gavin Croxton. He is normally a gentle giant, but has a quick temper and has the potential of turning into "The Incredible Hulk" if offended. He meets Grace and it seems she has an almost supernatural tranquilising effect on him. Obviousl, Rich is now out of the picture, bur fortuitiously, meets someone in Germany. Now he has calmed down, Gavin becomes the main male character in the 'gang' and initiates a couple of unusual 'bonding' exercises. Richard and his Angel: This is basically chapters 8 to 11 of 'Gavin', which form a self-contained narrative telling how Rich got together with his 'Angel of Death' and found something to believe in. Međugorje: Two skins couples from two different 'generations' happen to meet on a pilgrimage to Međugorje. Both girls are Catholic. Maxxie lapsed when he realised he was gay. Angela persuaded Rich to convert. The girls independently felt that their young men would benefit from the pilgrimage. The two couples 'bond' during the pilgrimage. Love in the Baltic: This was at one point considered as a sequel to "Gavin", but I have kept my original thoughts about its original A/U scenario in which Grace survives the crash, but her brain injury takes a long time to heal.(c/f Tony in generation one.) JJ meets her on a Baltic cruise and settles her differences with him. Cassie: This started out as a few sweet words about Cassie. It was triggered by five words; "Let me tell you about Cassie". I suddenly realised I had written her eulogy! Sid and Cassie are apparently a happily married couple, but Cassie still has bouts of depression. Cassie has one of these episodes when Sid is on a residential course (during the first week of dark evenings after the clocks go back). While he is away on the course, she has a major emotional breakdown. I found this story very hard to write, as the subject matter is heartbreaking. I have added an alternative (more cheerful) ending, where Cassie survives. Crossover Skins/Harry Potter Stories Changing Partners: I have been exploring some of the Neville/Luna stories within Harry Potter and am finding more and more parallels between Luna and sweet Cassie; also between Neville and Sid. This was written as a crossover story involving both couples set after the time of 'Skins - PURE' Both pairings bring an awkward, shy boy into a relationship with a beautiful, eccentric girl who is thought to be slightly crazy. Sid meets Luna and Neville meets Cassie. Everything gets sorted out at a conference. In this story, there are several cultural references. Obviously I include Skins and Harry Potter. In addition there are oblique references to Watership Down, Downton Abbey and a number of songs. A Long Awaited Holiday: Following Neville and Luna's unsuccessful search for the Crumpled Horned Snorkack, the pair join with their muggle friends, Sid and Cassie on a cruise from Florida to Vancouver as a farewell gesture before Neville and Luna move permanently to Hogwarts. Harry Potter stories Strange Little Girl: A/U The 'Strange Little Girl' is Luna. This is her story from early childhood to being reunited with Neville after her foreign travels. It has links to some of my other 'Luna' stories. The Dawn of Love: Neville is lonely. He is sitting in front of the castle contemplating his situation when he hears the most beautiful sound he has ever heard, Luna Lovegood's sweet soothing, gentle voice. Luna's Surprise: Neville has found out the date of Luna's birthday (February 13th). He wants to surprise her. Luna's Tribulations: Neville finds Luna crying her heart out in the Astronomy Tower. He attempts to console her and find out who or what has hurt her. Her Gryffindor friends try to help her. They plan to make her persecutors think twice. Neville's Gloom: Neville is depressed. He keeps this feeling from Luna by avoiding her. This breaks her heart. Madame Pomfrey ends up playing Cupid. The Gentle Moonlight: After the battle, Neville and Luna are searching for each other. Eventually Luna finds Neville on the Astronomy Tower. It is a warm night with the moon just past full. They discover each other in the gentle moonlight. When they join two of their friends, a shocked Hermione has a startling and enlightening experience. Two days later, she feels able to express her deep feelings for Ron. Since completion of this story, I have made some alterations to the wording of the middle chapter. The glowing Night Sky: Luna takes Neville on an (unsuccessful) expedition to find the crumple horned snorkak. They find the Northern Lights and each other. Jackdaw's Castle: This is an offshoot from "Changing Partners" and I have posted it as a 'Harry Potter' story. It concerns the reunion of Luna with Neville at the Highclere Castle conference and Neville's proposal of marriage. |
