My Rant about the non-anti Christian-ness of Harry Potter

Harry Potter is not anti christian. Fears cristians have about harry potter and why they are ridiculous fears

1. Harry Potter encourages witchcraft- so the bible says anyone practicing witchcraft is pure evil. well thats judgemental first of all (if, you know, magic was real) and second HARRY POTTER IS A BOOK, unlike the bible portrayed as FANTASY and FICTION

2. Harry Potter encourages revenge- Harry Potter is about teenagers, of course they want revenge. And hexing is as useful as beating someone up. Either way hp is the same as every other book on the planet in that regards.

3. Harry Potter encourages youth to disrespect elders- au contraire, I think Harry Potter is inspiring. It shows children that they don't have to grow up to make a change. If adults are threathened and feel that children will take over, they are paranoid and I'll redirect you to the millions of other books that do encourage children to disrespect elders.

Lastly, Some people believe that Harry Potter should be banned in public schools or the Bible allowed. Why this is a TERRIBLE idea:

A)Harry Potter is portrayed as pure fiction nothing more. We read many books involving religion, much more thoroughly than harry potter in school and no one complains about them. To remove all fantasy books from schools because of religous roots would make kids sheltered and really who wants our future leaders to be clueless?

B) We might as well stop teaching science. A lot of scientific theories are anti religious. haven't you noticed? They are just theories, and I'm not saying intelligent design should not be taught. It should, however, be taught along with other theories. No one is suggesting we stop teaching science because if we quit teaching science, we have sheltered youth and that's a bad thing!!!!!

C)The bible is not considered fiction. Therefore it would be impossible to separate that from church. Science(refer above) however tells us that witchcraft is not real and therefore people who say the bible is teaching witchcraft are paranoid. I promise, there is no such thing as hogwarts where i can say Expecto Patronum and expect the dementors to go away! A teacher can say that witchcraft is not real and that is a scientific standpoint. The same could be said for the bible because science does not prove God. And face it, God is Church! Therefore it is not allowed in schools.

My Rant about HP fans who hate Twilight

I think the main point of Twilight haters is that Edward is a perfect, sparkly, fairy. He's not. Edward is not anything like my perfect boyfriend or whatever. He is very flawed. He is waaay too protective. And emotional. So, if you can imagine Edward complexly (and get over Bella's patheticness) then it's a good book of two flawed people.
