I've been writing since I was little. Writing is who I am and what I do. But my head and heart are in constant conflict with one another because part of me says, "Keep dreaming. Never give up. You will prevail," but the other part of me says, "Look at things logically. It's time to stop dreaming and get real. Where is writing going to get you?" It's a good thing I never listen to me, but some day I fear that I might. If that day ever does come, I'd like to know that I at least made a difference with my words in some respect. So I continue to write from the heart despite that nagging inner-critic telling me that I'm trash. Because you know what? One woman's trash is another woman's treasure. Throughout my writing journey, I summoned up the courage to publish my first series, "The Barking Mad Tale of a Teenage Werewolf". It is about a group of fun-loving werewolves (though not those corny B-grade horror movie wolf-man kind) who spend their time playing dare or dare (you read that right, because what place does truth have in playing outlandish games?), placing ridiculous bets, and having a little bit of fun while guarding their town against evil. There are wise cracking werewolves, non-sparkling vampires, and a dash of romance on this journey of self discovery. It's Twilight-light, minus the emo, and with more werewolves than vampires. The first book is called "An American Werewolf in Idaho". The second is "A Tale of Two Shih Tzus" and the third is "The Labrador of the Rings". The final installment is "The War of the Werewolves". And there is a prequel out titled "From Loss to Love". They are all on sale on Amazon as paperbacks and are up for sale on Kindle and Nook. Fun little facts: -A good heart only gets you so far in life. But it's the only way I know how to live. (rolls eyes, Thanks for that, mom). Generally I'm a happy person, but I have my days. We all do. I try not to let anyone see me at my worst. I vary between being painfully shy to boisterously loud. Depends on my mood. I'm about as predictable as an earthquake. It takes me a long time to talk to people, but when I start talking I never shut up. My friends tease me all the time about being so friendly. It's a running joke that I'm a Labrador Retriever puppy...and I truly kind of am. I love people, but I don't let many of them in. -I love to make others laugh, because I like to see my friends happy. And not a day goes by that I don't smile (even those days when I have a broken heart). I believe that people ask less questions when you are smiling. I think that if you can't laugh at yourself then you take things too damn seriously. -I believe in living in the moment. If you get too lost in the past you cry over what has been. And if you look to the future you're worried about what it will bring. Living in the present is simply the best...because we're not always guaranteed a tomorrow. So seize the day, take risks. Enjoy life. Live it up. Live a day at a time. The moment you start watching the clock...you start counting down. Life is truly a beautiful thing. “Work like you don't need the money, love like you've never been hurt, and live like there's no tomorrow.” |
