Hello, and welcome to my stories. I'm Valerie Rutherford. Author of the Magic Inc. series. Writer. Vegetarian. Dreamer. Believer in soulmates, synchronicity, and inner magic.

Writing is my passion. I've been creating songs and stories as far back as I remember. I started writing fanfiction here when I was about eleven, after being inspired by some of the other writers. I spent more time writing, reading, and thinking about fanfiction than just about anything between 5th grade and 9th grade. Writing my fics helped me cultivate some of my own original ideas for magic, and I also wrote in a lot of my own characters. Eventually, these were the parts of writing that interested me more than the characters and places that were not my own. And once I found the right idea, I was ready to start work on my own novels. Still, over the years, fanfiction continued to help me to grow and experiment. And I am very thankful.

I now focus my writing on a fantasy universe called The Timeline, which I self-publish. This takes most of my creative energy, so fanfiction is a hobby that gets neglected more often than not. I still have every intention to finish Hate You, Hate Me. If everything goes well, I hope to also write out the whole trilogy I originally planned. As it stands, I try to post at least once a year, in February, to celebrate a close friendship I gained though writing HYHM. That may not seem like very often, and maybe it will make you less interested in my work. That's okay. I'm writing my own novels now, and I'm very happy about that. There are still other fanfiction ideas I still consider from time to time, so you never know when I might pop back in. But mostly, this is a place to remember where I started and what experience I've gained through the years.
