Catherinetag chapter 21 . 6/20 Stayed up till 5 am finishing thissuuuch a cute story! Is it just me not finding it or is Intervals (the not-sequel) not out ? |
Nikkette chapter 21 . 9/23/2019 Holy friggin’ CRAP. I found your story on accident and blazed through it faster than a forest fire. Your writing is amazing! Both you and your Beta are awesome, I love Tahnorra and this is like the greatest fic I’ve read for them. I honestly don’t know how it escaped my sights for this long, but then again it’s been a hot minute since I’ve looked. So THANK you again for sharing this with us! You’re awesome! |
Guest chapter 21 . 4/18/2017 Gosh, I haven't finished the chapter yet but I have say that Korra punching Tahno because he LET her hit him is gold. It's hilarious and also touching in a weird way in my opinion. |
Guest chapter 21 . 4/18/2017 I am, at the moment a bit confused if the Iroh in the story is the tea loving Iroh or the young general Iroh the 2nd. |
Guest chapter 14 . 4/18/2017 Wtf indeed. I totally get Korra. It's not just about romance, it happens whenever people seem to get upset out of something weird or unimportant out of nowhere. |
the one who hums chapter 21 . 10/13/2016 They got together! They did it! Ten months! I'm so happy! Gosh, this story was so so good. I'm baffled that I never finished it when I started reading the first few chapters so long ago, because it's honestly so enjoyable and nostalgic and everything that I've come to love from reading your writing! The building and half-releasing of tension was FRUSTRATING, but I love it because you make it mirror real life so well. And I want to say I'm SURPRISED that Korra punched Tahno out of a tree (I'm really not), but i AM surprised that Tahno LET himself be punched out of a tree. He really is a lovestruck loser. It's probably for the best that he didn't go to the wolf den dinner or the dance, because even if his presence was somehow, miraculously welcomed, he DID have two black eyes from his now-girlfriend. Kiiiind of hard to explain, haha. And I'm super excited to read Intervals! I wonder if there's gonna be anything in there to do with irosami? (eyebrow waggled) Korra was certainly very suggestive that something could happen there. I wholeheartedly approve. But for real, I also just want to read more tahnorra shenanigans, and stuff with Bo and Asami and Korra being best friends. I'm excited for all of that! OH and something I just thought of and have been meaning to mention for many chapters but keep forgetting, but the way you have the characters say "For the love of polar bears!" And "For Pabu/Naga's sake!" was incredibly funny and clever to me. I like that they swear with their pet's names because it seems in character, and at the same time in the context of the story it sound absolutely RIDICULOUS and I can totally picture Tahno having no clue who Naga is and thinking she's like some Argentinian god. I don't know, I love seeing how authors make character's swear or take phrases that would have God in them and replace them with something in canon. This one is definitely funny. Well, this was a rididulous and random review, but basically thank you for writing this story and I can't wait to look up the kind of sequel on AO3! Your writing is a blast to read! |
the one who hums chapter 20 . 10/13/2016 Asami's such a great friend, I could kiss her. I'm glad she's there for Korra so thoroughly, despite having just become friends with her in like, the past week and a half. It's nice that Korra has someone she can count on. Her AND Bolin. So Hiroshi was the one to help Yakone cover up his kids' dirty tricks. Poor Asami. I'm glad she's living with her mom now, since her dad is such a crook and a cheat. Trying to cut down the Wolves' star runner so the Amon brothers had a shot at glory is pretty fucked up, especially when it sounds like the kids had the merit to where they had the legitimate chance to win on their own. I feel like I need to read a little closer to see what the point of Hiroshi being involved in any of this was. Like I get having someone else on the board to sway people that it was Tahno's fault helps out Yakone, but was does Hiroshi get out of this? |
the one who hums chapter 19 . 10/13/2016 So I think I noticed a typo in these last couple lines. Because from what I'm reading, Korra and Tahno (kinda) just admitted their feelings for each other! and! kissed! But for some reason they last couple lines say that Korra is expecting to never talk to him again? So clearly this must be a typo. I'll let it slide this time, mistakes happen. Because there's no way this story is ACTUALLY gonna end with Korra going back to Argentina right? RIGHT? I'm a mess. And I really hope Tahno is right about this whole "being free" biz he's referring to, because I feel like if he had gotten a reputation for being violent during meets and being suspended for the rest of the season, that probably would have effected his opportunities a lot. A lot. And while I'm super ecstatic that he was seen as not guilty, I hope his motivation increases a little bit! Yeah, he's a week out of shape, but he can finish the season now! After that whole week of crap it seems like a waste to be seen as innocent and then not finish up the season. And now I'm just wondering if we're ever gonna find out what really happened in the race that day. And what all that shady business was with Yakone and Hiroshi and the Amon brothers. Because I need to know! |
the one who hums chapter 18 . 10/13/2016 Okay, so as a person who is not a Mako-sympathizer in this story, I'm still sad for him because of the "lifetime of getting the short end of the stick" descriptor. Poor guy. Damn, though, Korra's right. This is HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY, and as much as I love cross, even I know that it's not as big of a deal as these guys are making it out to be. The Foxes and Wolves all need to take naps, for God's sake. Gah, I'm just torn about how to feel. Like, on one hand I can totally see where Mako's total rage is coming from. Tahno is their rival, a total dick, someone he thinks spiked him, and like a long-lost foster brother from hell or something, so clearly there's a lot of history there, and finding out that Korra likes HIM would be pretty hard to hear, especially in such a tense situation. So, I get it. But at the same time that whole "He's not stealing anything from us!"/"Isn't he?" comment just rubbed me wayy the wrong way. Like? Korra was never YOURS, pal. Get off your high horse and stop being so damn territorial and crazy about the rivalry, Korra can be friends with who she wants. But then finding out that both Bo and Asami knew while he was the last to find out had to suck. Like, Korra just threw a fit last chapter about being kept in the dark about Tahno's promiscuity, so she has to at least understand that being the last to know is awful. So basically I'm conflicted. But as a Tahno sympathizer and not a Mako sympathizer, I'm still gonna lead towards Tahno. It was nice that Bo was so cool about everything and trying to help Tahno and Korra out though, as a sidenote. Bolin is a good friend. |
the one who hums chapter 17 . 10/13/2016 These interruptions are gonna be the DEATH of me, I swear. She had just confessed her feelings! Tahno just said he MISSED HER, for Christ's sake! He said HER NAME. When's the next time either of them is gonna be this emotionally vulnerable? When! Never, probably! And now some dumb Fire Foxes are gonna ruin everything ughhhh Man, and the hairtie! He kept her special hairtie and was gonna give it back to her. He had gone back to the arboretum to see her! I'm! so! upset! I'm not even forming coherent thoughts! God, I feel like I had something to say about this chapter other than a bunch of rambling but it's all escaped me because I just want them to love each other and they keep taking one step forward and three thousand steps back. I'm just gonna read the next one and hope they get some more alone time to talk about the investigation, because I really just want Korra to tell Tahno that she doesn't think he did it. |
the one who hums chapter 16 . 10/13/2016 Tahno a LITTLE bit deserved to be decked in the face. Not entirely, since he was confused and tried to apologize and all, but with the way he treated Korra during the "don't fucking talk to me anymore" conversation, he KINDA needed a good punching. Funny thing is that Korra's crush on Mako began with a punch to the face, and now she's come full circle. Here's hoping this punching victim will actually love her BACK. Hoo boy, though. The "What happened TO me?" text broke my heart a little bit, because Korra can't understand the significance of just how monumental it is to Tahno that Korra believes he's a victim in all this and not the assailant. Because all he wanted was for Korra to be the one person who believed in him and she actually DOES and then refused to talk to him anyways. (But now they HAVE to talk! Ha ha! Though now that I think about it, should I be concerned that Tahno has showed up to the Fire Fox pep bonfire? He doesn't really seem like an egg-throwing shenanigan kind of person, but I find it hard to believe that he came here just to scare the shit out of Korra, ya know? Here's hoping he's not coming here for that revenge everyone keeps talking about.) And speaking of that! What the heck is going on with Hiroshi and Asami? And Noatak and Tarrlock? Like, if we're going by canon, what I'm deducing is that Noatak had some sort of grudge against Tahno like he did in the show (being a sleazy, cheating bender and all), and that's why he pushed Tahno down that hill. Now I just gotta know if Tahno's spike was the one to hit Mako on the downfall or if Noatak did that too...AND if we're still trying to go off of canon, that means Asami's dad is a supporter of Noatak. I don't really know how this ties into this AU, but it's all very fishy. I wonder how Asami is tangled up in all of this...But I suppose reading the next chapter is the best way to find out! OH. And before I do. Bolin with a tiny bow in his hair is an adorable image. |
the one who hums chapter 15 . 10/13/2016 Thank God for laptops with keyboards. Reviewing is SO much easier this way. Ughh! I'm so frustrated! This is the one chapter where Mako is talking about WHAT HAPPENED DURING THAT MEET and Korra wasn't paying attention! Curses. I just want to know what happened during that race. Or at least, what Mako and Tahno THINK happened. I need someone to tell me the story so I can piece it together like the detective I like to pretend I am. If I had to make a guess though, I'd say that that the four spike marks on Mako's leg are some solid evidence. You said that Korra used all five spikes during her race, but it all kinda depends on the runner how many spikes you think you'll need. Maybe Tahno is a five spike person too! So I'm betting it will come down to the spikes. And I really don't believe that Korra doesn't give a damn. She gives a pretty big damn, actually. I just wish she gave enough of one to go SEE Tahno. A face to face convo would probably do both of them some good. Also because Tahno needs a friend right now :( Though I'm convinced that with all the wink-wink talk the adults have been doing to Korra, maybe the outcome of this investigation is going a lot better than expected? Here's hoping, at least. I feel like they're trying to hint at something good. |
the one who hums chapter 14 . 10/13/2016 UGHHHHHHBHBGHGGG Tahno needs to stop letting his wet dreams influence his daily interactions. I just want them to TALK already! I'm glad that Korra talked to Asami about Mako. As a friend, Asami deserved to know. And by now I've completely hopped off the Mako love train bc the way he was acting in that was WEIRD. I'm also just upset that he still didn't talk about what happened during the race. |
the one who hums chapter 13 . 10/13/2016 The studious, goody two shoes, nerd part of me is sincerely annoyed that Mako is trying to make her skip class to tell her something that could wait two hours. But I AM curious to see if he's going to tell her what really happened. Bc the frustrating part of all of b this is that neither Tahno nor Mako had said aloud what happened back there. I knew it was all happening very fast, but unless someone hit their head during the fall then surely SOMEONE had to know what's going on. Which makes me wonder if Mako really believes Tahno did it or if he just plans on pinning it on him anyway. Idk. Also, Ikki is amazing. |
the one who hums chapter 12 . 10/13/2016 I'm so happy Korra is trusting people enough to tell them about Tahno and (almost) Ten in. I think having people to talk about Tahno will help Korra a lot. In situations of complicated romance, you need to have a soundboard friend so you know if you're making the right move. And Bolin and Asami are the two kindest most understanding people she knows outside of her family. The is definitely good. |
