I've just re-evaluated everything on this account. Much of the information was out of date, and some of the stories had authors notes that were either too long or once again, sorely in need of an update. Therefore, a fresh start is in order.

The Red Thread of Fate: I happened to be looking for the information for my youtube account that I never use, and was browsing through my many emails, when I finally got to the one this site directs notices and alerts to. Having written this story a very long time ago, a sense of nostalgia washed over me at the sight of more than fifteen alerts both favoriting and reviewing this story. As I read through the reviews, eager to see what my readers had to say, I noticed that there was critiquing where I had missed it.

I can't say how incredibly appreciative I am of those people for pointing my errors out to me, no matter how I may have reacted to them initially. I'm still learning as I age, and one of those key lessons in life is that neither my work, nor I, are perfect, and everyone's critique, even if they're just thoughts and opinions on how to improve my storytelling, is vital. Just reading them made me want to at least return from my lurking to read over the story again. Interesting how something completely unrelated can tie back to something that has gone untouched for years.

Well, I started reading the story, and within the first two lines I caught something that I've learned to loathe as a writer and a reader: the use of Ita-chan, or any honorfic for that matter, used in a context that is clearly not Japanese-related or correctly associated with history. Seeing this and nearly swallowing my tongue in distaste, I decided to re-evaluate this story and correct anything that I see unfit for continued use in this short story.

I have grown as both a writer and a reader, and for the purpose of seeing my improvement over the years I will leave every part of this story's diction, syntax, imagery, and figurative language as it is. The only things I will change are things that are glaringly inaccurate, such as the use of Ita-chan, places that need desperate touching up, or possibly replacing my abundant commas with semi-colons. More critique may be useful for my use of the semi-colons, seeing as how I didn't truly figure out how to use them until this year, and not to mention that this update is in the dead of night.

However, for the moment, everything other than that already changed will be left alone.
