Author has written 29 stories for Slayers. Howdy do?! I've been writing fanfiction here or elsewhere solo or with a team since way before 2000. It's such a fun outlet for personal expression I just can't help it. My hope is that I can share some of my love for writing with others. I adore feedback, creative ideas, and story discussions. For this reason, I recommend watching the series and reading the original books. I've found it enriches the fan fiction experience and keeps the characters in focus. I respect the original concepts, but feel no compelling reason for sticking to canon, requiring others do it, or even discussing the need to. Fan fiction is a diversion from the canon, not a re-writing being restricted by it. Fan fiction takes off from the original concept to fill in missing side stories, add romance, and answer all kinds of "what ifs?" Fan fiction can alter personalities, but, in my opinion, not too much or the writer might as well write original fiction. I like to keep that in mind and stretch my favorite guys and girls as far as possible, while still keeping them recognizable-- and fun. Nothing too serious. I like happy endings. I don't do character deaths. I like to see good triumph over evil and promote positive ideals and behavior. I'm not keen on endless streams of angst or plots endorsing self-destructive, illegal, or hateful crimes. I like team work, friendship, and loving relationships, but at the same time I see the need for conflicts, challenges, and heartbreaks for story development. These are all wrapped up in my themes over and over. Thank you for treating me fairly and reading/reviewing when you can. --KS |
