What would you do if you met your soulmate at the wrong time?

To trust someone, to let them in, what an unsettling ordeal. Kagome is easy and safe, and Inuyasha is difficult and guarded. She can put him at ease with a smile, simultaneously setting him on edge. It was nothing until it was something, creating absolute chaos and uncertainty within the both of them.

"I missed you, too." He breathed, watching the way her smile seemed so playful yet so sinful. She sauntered his way, and he practically felt immobilized, hypnotized by the way she moved, by the way she glowed, by the confidence she was radiating, by the way his clothes always looked so much better on her than on him.

Every ten seconds or so, she'd glance over her shoulder. The sight of him was remarkably exciting. His long, silver hair was held back in a ponytail, flowing beautifully over his shoulder as he picked up solo cups from the floor next to the loveseat. His broad shoulders flexed beneath his button up, and as he stood up straight and turned to her, his lips quirked in a peculiar grin.

"And if there was one thing a person could ever wish to control, it was that. Screw shutting the world down, and preventing an onslaught of more needless turmoil. Being able to tell yourself that everything's okay and you aren't as worthless as you currently feel, and then actually believing it would be the true superpower to behold."

"A thud in his chest, a swelling in his diaphragm. He could feel the thin skin of his lips slowly part as he let her statement hang in the air. The stillness between them was comfortable, as was her stare, and he allowed himself a small moment to stop thinking, to stop trying to figure out what was happening and just relish in the peace he'd found."

"Who did this to you?" Inuyasha seethed. Kagome's expression twisted sadly, the trembling in her chin and bottom lip bringing something to ache dully within his chest. She shook her head, looking down before shrugging her shoulders, and he tensed his fingers against her jaw so as not to allow her to completely turn away from him.

Each step, each breath, each smile and tear was unknowingly documented. Cameras were watching, culprits were laughing, a wild game was ensuing, so who could Kagome trust? Certainly not the well-armed, ex-friend, pigheaded detective, Inuyasha. No thanks. But when questions go unanswered and chaos flares, how will she fend? She's not the only victim in this equation.

Two best friends sickeningly in love with each other, one convinced he'd never view her as more than what she currently was and the other sick and tired of waiting for her to realize the subliminal messages he's been sending. "How have you not noticed?" Inuyasha murmured disbelievingly.

A secret relationship, a New Years Eve party, a brand new dress, and a half demon entirely enraptured. Their love was intense and their passion burned bright. Even the distance of a crowded room couldn't dim their light.

Inuyasha thought he knew pain after experiencing so much loss in his life, but it wasn't until he was separated from Kagome that he discovered how sharp pain could really be. Now that he had her back, he wasn't willing to take any risks, but Kagome was so fearless against demons. What was it gonna take to get his point across? When would she finally see how badly he needed her?

There's a moment of peace after Kagome reappears from the well after three long years, something they almost didn't get, and not a second of it is wasted. Time may have kept them apart, but their hearts remained as close as ever.

Sometimes, when things become just a bit too much, all you need to do is take a moment. Let it out. Let it go.

Oh man, Kagome was in for one hell of a ride from the very beginning. How was she going to make it through the holidays if she could hardly handle the Hallmark movie she was currently living?

All Inuyasha wants to hear is a simple "papa" from his toddler; was that asking too much?

Kagome is kidnapped by a malevolent and ruthless demon that gets off on terror and drawn out death. He wants to taunt her lifeless body over Inuyasha's head for pure enjoyment and revenge. Will Inuyasha make it in time or will Kagome be fighting for her life alone?

Inuyasha was watching Kagome crumble night after night when she thought no one was awake to notice. She began to hold back from him, to lie, to pretend like the truth and her exhaustion weren't painted on her face vividly for the half demon to see. He's finally had enough.

Inuyasha underestimates the situation and overestimates his abilities on the night of the new moon, landing him in a life-threatening situation. Kagome refuses to wait any longer for his return, leaving Sango behind with her children and racing off to the village they'd gone to. When she realizes how bad the situation has become, she leaps into action without hesitation.

Inuyasha is ready and willing to share an intimate moment with Kagome involving his mother, but there's something much more intimate that comes along with their journey. Something much more eye-opening and heart-warming at the end of the mountainous trail harboring fields of daisies.
