THE UPDATE SCHEDULE:

Sorry I keep going off of the update schedule; I'm trying to adjust to my new job and figure out how to work writing around it. If I miss a scheduled update, I won't update until the next possible date. I will for sure have one for Wednesday; please bear with me!

I'm probably going to stick with 2-3 chapters every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, as per the poll results! I'll leave it up for a little bit in case anybody still has opinions!

ALSO: when I say Mon/ Wed/ Fri, I typically update really really late in the day... so for example today's "Wednesday" update really came at 1:30am on Thursday (AST). So I guess depending on where you live this might be a Tuesday / Thursday / Saturday update? Sorry for confusion, writing is something I do to help me sleep so I exclusively do it at night (seriously I'll open a word document and pretty much go from wide awake to instantly falling asleep on my laptop it's awesome). I always like looking over my work/ proofreading before uploading, so even when the chapters are already written, I pretty much only upload them very late at night as well. So, there's the explanation!

About Me

I'm a 22 year old female university student (BBA co-op with a major in accounting) who just happens to love ponies. You can also find me on FIMFiction under the same username! If I'm not studying or passed out drunk with friends, you can usually find me working on fanfiction, musical arrangements, or PMVs (you can find those on my youtube channel, TangyNeonz). In other words; I organize numbers, I organize words, I organize clips, I organize music notes.

...I relate to Twilight really, really easily. I actually have an entire wall that displays my week's schedule (I loooove mentioning it in job interviews, hehe). Now I just need my own assistant...

FAQ

Are you still going to write a sequel to Xanterlot University? When will it be out?

Yes, eventually I will!! I will probably be trying to piece it together during my next few months at university, and over the holiday break you should start to see updates. I would LOVE to be able to stick to an update schedule like I did with XU (...well, until I started school again LOL), so that will require some prep work! I am also trying to get XU uploaded onto FIMFiction, but this is taking a long time because I am lazy.

Can you read my fic / will you beta / proof / pre read for me?

I'm happy to check out the first chapter or so of any fic and leave a hopefully helpful review, but I do not beta read. Unless I like your work and made an exception. If you're looking for a beta reader, there's a whole section of this website dedicated to it. You can also find groups on FIMFiction!

What fics are you reading / what fics can you recommend to me?

Most of my MLP favourites are only on FIMFiction, but I think I have a few in my "Favourites" section down below. Some of the more notable MLP fics that I've read/ am reading include:

"Good Enough" by Kegisak. Absolutely amazing piece of work, even more so considering it doesn't use any of the main characters from the show. Very, very relatable for any musician. A must read imo.

"Three Hundred and Fifty" by VoidChicken. Twilight and Sweetie Belle travel three hundred and fifty years into the future, and end up stuck. This is probably the most obvious influence on "A Decade Lost", and if you're like me and a huge Sweetie Belle fan, I recommend checking it out.

"A Summer Twilight" by Larathin Bradley. An elderly Twilight Sparkle passes away, and Spike struggles to comprehend it. A bit outdated because of the whole Twilight-is-a-princess thing, but still very tear jerking and thought-provoking nonetheless. Highly recommend.

"My Little Pony: Torn Between Two Worlds" by Alex Barkhorn. If you've read Xanterlot University, then you already know that I love this fic. It was actually one of the first FIMFiction stories I read, and was a big inspiration for Xanterlot University. The OC is funny and engaging, but also angsty. This is a good thing, though, because it means the mane 6 are able to help him out! If you like humanized alternate universes and haven't read it, then why not?! Get on it right now! Neonz commands it.

"The Equestria Games: First Blood" by 8_bit. My favourite fic to review, for some reason. Maybe because one of my OCs is in it (my insane little Limerick baby). Not sure. Anyways, if you're a fan of "The Hunger Games", this premise should be very familiar to you. It's not a rewrite, though; this fic is based on the very first game after the war, which makes the atmosphere quite a bit heavier. Some very sad and a few disturbing parts in it, but a better read for it. If you like "The Hunger Games", give it a shot!

"Why Am I Crying?" by Rated Ponystar. Fantastic piece of work that does an AMAZING job at exploring the concept of death not only through the lenses of ponies, but through the lenses of the CMC as they experience the death of Diamond Tiara. Each crusader reacts very differently, and chances are you find yourself relating to one of the three. Very sad, but also a very interesting concept.

"Make a Wish" by CoolStoryBrony. In which Scootaloo is diagnosed with late-stage cancer. This is not only the most heartbreaking piece of fanfiction that I've ever read, it might just be the most heartbreaking piece of literature I've ever read. ...that's not saying a whole lot considering how much I read but DETAILS. It's the ONLY fic that I cringe when I see it's updated, because it's just so painful to read. Why read it, then? It's absolutely amazingly written, and honestly being able to make somebody cry for several hours (...SHUT UP I'M A WUSS) using words is... incredible. Very realistic. Does not sugar coat things. Highly recommended if you can stomach it.

"Adorkable Love" by Einhander. Much more lighthearted than most of the fics on my list, heh. It's a Cheerilee x Twilight shipping, and it's the first that I've read. Absolutely AMAZING dialogue and characterization. The main plot is supplemented by several side plots, that despite a nice bit of complexity are very easy to follow. Tons of references are thrown in for good measure, too! Love it!

"Awkward, But Worth It" by bahatumay. Not only is it AppleDash, but it's my favourite AppleDash fic. Characters are spot on. Dialogue is hilarious. Each chapter is its own little slice of life, but it does have a bit of a plot that makes it beneficial to read 'em in order. If you like AppleDash, this is a must-read. This is one of my favourites that I'm following right now.

What other fandoms do you follow?

...Basically just MLP, which is why I can dedicate so much to it. I don't read a lot of literature, either. Just textbooks... ugh.

I really like Harry Potter and Pokemon, though, but I don't follow any fanfiction or online fandomy stuff like I do with MLP.

The only other television show I watch is Big Brother, which I follow obsessively when it is on. Yes it's stupid. I don't care I love it.

When did you start writing?

Uh... I started writing fanfiction when I was *checks date of first fanfiction uploaded* thirteen years old, heh. I haven't done any writing outside of school or fanfiction, but maybe one day!

What is in your fanfiction future?

I have a lot planned out, but I don't want to upload anything until I finish my unfinished MLP fics. My CotT fics will likely not be completed... though I have a lot of great unfinished CotT material so you never know!

What I currently have written out:

A few 3000 / 4000 word oneshots. I'm hoping to write a whole bunch of 'em and upload them one at a time into one big fic. They will be friendship fics and will pair every single member of the mane six - so that's... 15 fics? I currently have AJ / RD done, TS / R halfway done, AJ / PP started, and RD / FL and FL / R planned out.

I also have the first chapter of a new fic called "Paradise" written out. You can think of it as a MLD type story with Pinkie, except my goal for the story was to have the character grow and learn from Pinkie. MLD was more of a tragedy, really. RD left the main character completely lost. Laaaame.

Annndddd finally I have the first chapter of another humanization fic, but this one is OC-led. Twilight plays the role of the antihero, and Rainbow gets to be the OCs love interest. I can't figure out how to really explain this fic without giving anything away so... wait and see?

What MLP shippings do you support?

Fun fact: my roommate pairings for Xanterlot University were strategic. At the time, there wasn't very much Twilight / Fluttershy, so I felt okay with putting those two in a room together. I still have yet to see a Rarity / Pinkie fic, so they again were paired together. I didn't want anybody thinking I was... suggesting things. ...Rainbow got her own room because she can literally be paired with anyone so Applejack had to have her own room as well.

Anyways, my favourite is AppleDash, but I also like the following: FlutterDash, RariDash, Spike x Sweetie Belle, Spike x Apple Bloom.

I will read fics with the following, but I don't like them quite as much: TwiDash, RariJack, FlutterMac, Sparity, Rarity x Fancy Pants, Spike x Scootaloo, any of Mane 6 x OC

I actively avoid fics with the following: Any shippings involving Celestia and Luna, any incest (...I've made exceptions for Twilight x Shining Armour and Apple Bloom x Babs Seed because I was tricked into reading them because the shipping comes later D:), any of the CMC with any of the Mane 6

Anything else I'm indifferent to.

Best pony?

Sweetie Belle.

...Why? She's the one I enjoy seeing on screen the most. I think because she has such an innocent little naive personality. And because she's just ADORABLE. She has such a beautiful design too, ahhh :3 I absolutely love the CMC.

Rarity is my favourite of the Mane 6. Luna is best princess. Discord is best villain. Lightning Dust is best one-episode character. Derpy is best fandom character.

Characters in order of preference: Sweetie Belle, Rarity, Twilight, Apple Bloom, Scootaloo, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Spike, Applejack, Luna, Pinkie Pie, everypony else.

Rarity is my absolute favourite to write though. She's seriously sooo easy and fun to write. Pinkie might not top my list of favourite characters (her antics got old fast for me), but she is the second easiest to write (from what I've read, most people seem to write Pinkie well, though).

Hardest to write? Fluttershy, definitely. Good thing about her is that she doesn't need to talk much to seem believable. Celestia comes after her.
