Lucy Van Pelt: A Lost Cause A mini-series based off A Waste of Time and Space, the fanfiction written by an anonymous writer on 4chan's cartoons and comics discussion board and reposted here by FanFiction.net user David Crap-Writer. This mini-series, which is in NO WAY connected to my series PEANUTS: The Next Chapter, will follow the fall of Lucy Van Pelt and what drove Linus's estrangement from his family. Also we will learn what Charlie Brown has been up to as an adult and how Lucy's sudden death affects him. PART 1: After learning about Lucy's suicide, Charlie Brown, now a restaurant owner in Vallejo, California, flies back to his hometown for the funeral. While on layover in Los Angeles, he reunites and reconnects with Violet Gray, who had moved away after 5th grade, who also heard about Lucy's death. Meanwhile, Linus, now a retired staff sergeant from the army and living in Boston, wrestles with whether or not to go to Lucy's funeral. He is estranged from his family, except for Rerun, and has nothing to do with them. With help from his wife, Audrey, he tries to figure things out. Rerun had also moved out to Boston to be closer to his brother. His life had been rougher as a result of Lucy's abuse. He is a recovering drug addict with brushes with the law behind him. And with Linus's help, he's trying to get his life back on track. PART 2: All of the PEANUTS gang reunite back home after learning about Lucy's death. Charlie Brown and Violet ponder a relationship together, while Peppermint Patty, now calling herself Tricia, tries to reconnect with Marcie after a falling out back in high school. Linus and Rerun also come to town, but don't tell their parents because they haven't decided to go to Lucy's funeral yet, and also they aren't ready to talk to their folks. Sally and Schroeder announce their engagement to their friends, which Charlie Brown already knew about beforehand. The gang also talk about how they felt alienated because of Lucy. PART 3: The day of the funeral arrives and everyone wonders if the Van Pelt brothers will attend. Speaking of Linus and Rerun, their father shares a disturbing secret that could have saved both brothers from Lucy's abuse as kids. Before the funeral, Tricia and Marcie hash out their differences and finally work to make amends. Audrey, who came with Linus and is nine months pregnant, later goes into labor and everyone wonders what she's going to have. Charlie Brown has a surprise for Violet. Both Van Pelt brothers decide whether or not they want their parents back in their lives. Lost Cause Diaries A prequel to the mini-series Lucy Van Pelt: A Lost Cause. It follows the events of the PEANUTS gang growing up through middle school and high school up to graduation, even recounting the confrontation between Charlie Brown and Lucy. We also look at the events that led Violet to move to California and how her life is out there. 1. Violet Moves Away- Violet once said she would love to get away from everybody, ESPECIALLY EVERYBODY! She finally gets her wish after her father receives a promotion and has to move to California. She figures she would become one of the cool kids once there but discovers that the kids in Los Angeles is much different than the Sparkyville gang, thus becoming the Failure Face she always called Charlie Brown, herself. 2. The Last Ballgame- The PEANUTS gang are all in 8th grade at this point, and Charlie Brown's team are playing Peppermint Patty's again. But this time, Charlie Brown promises if his team doesn't win this time, he was done with baseball, at least when it comes to playing it regularly. 3. When Friends Move On- Over time, Lucy and Frieda's friendship dissolves into just mere acquaintances. As Frieda gets tired of Lucy's constant complaining and crabbiness, she looks to new friends to hang out with and even rekindle old friendships with Charlie Brown and the others. 4. The Humbling of Violet Gray- Violet finally makes friends with the other kids after transferring schools. She finally realizes that her cruel behavior back in her old town may have cost her any lasting friendships to fall back on, with the exception of Patty. 5. The Oreo Incident- Lucy, becoming much worse as she get older, brutally attacks Rerun after he ate the last Oreo. She lands Rerun in the hospital, and criminal charges may be levied on Lucy. Linus begins to work out and lift weights to protect himself from his sister's wrath. 6. The Life of Snoopy- Snoopy passes away from old age, and everyone is saddened by his death, especially his owner, Charlie Brown. The only one who doesn't mourn his passing is Lucy, and after making some distasteful remarks about him, and Charlie Brown, the blockhead finally reaches his boiling point with the fat fussbudget. 7. Sally Loves Schroeder- After giving up on Linus, accepting that they would never be together, Sally starts taking notice of Schroeder, who in turn, starts developing feelings for Sally, after she shows a genuine interest in classical music, and even sings for him. Lucy, noticing that the two of them are getting closer, decides to take Sally out of the equation so she can have Schroeder all to herself. 8. Tricia Leaves School- Peppermint Patty, now going by Tricia, decides that she had enough of school and wants to join the work force. Marcie delivers an ultimatum to Tricia: stay in school, or their friendship is done. 9. The New and Improved Violet Gray- After losing some weight and buying new clothes, Violet finally becomes the pretty girl she was destined to be. She is back on top as being a popular teen, but still is friends with her misfit pals and is no longer snobby herself. She also makes a promise to herself: if their paths ever cross again, she would apologize to Charlie Brown. 10. A Hookup Years in the Making- Long harboring feelings finally come out as Franklin and Marcie get together and start dating exclusively. Also Sally and Schroeder go on their first date since becoming a couple. Charlie Brown finally develops a backbone and even scores a date for the prom. And Patty meets a new kid named Mark and is finding herself enamored with the new boy. 11. Graduation- Charlie Brown, and his friends, graduate from high school. Charlie even makes a speech at the ceremony. Lucy doesn't attend the graduation, opting for her diploma to be mailed to her (she barely passes). Finally having enough of Lucy and the family, in general (with the exception of Rerun), Linus makes a fateful decision after graduation. 12. The B* Is Dead (Finale)- Takes place during the events of A Waste of Time and Space and Lucy Van Pelt: A Lost Cause, we see how the rest of the PEANUTS gang find out about Lucy's death and how they react. Violet, now an actress and model, hears it from Patty and decides for the first time in years, to return to Sparkyville, her home town, and hopefully reunite with a certain round-headed guy. Learning To Forgive (A "Lost Cause" Mini Series) Picking up five years after the events of "A Waste of Time and Space" and Lucy Van Pelt: A Lost Cause, Linus and Rerun receive shocking news about their long-estranged mother, Lacey. She has terminal cancer and wants to clear the air with her sons before she dies. Will they finally make amends with their mother? At the same time in California, Violet is also wrestling with whether she wants to see her mother, whom she is also estranged from. She has the support of her husband, Charlie Brown. Charlie and Violet are also the proud parents to 3-year-old twin boys, Charlie Jr. (Chaz) and Craig and the owners of Snoopy II, another beagle who, while looking like his namesake, acts like a normal dog. PART 1: Linus and Audrey Van Pelt are enjoying their lives. Their daughter, Zoe, is now 5 and is smart and wise like her father; even down to dragging a blanket like he did (alas, no Great Pumpkin-like fantasies, though). They also now had a boy, Linus Jr., who is also wise beyond his years, but is a bit more energetic. Rerun is enjoying his life with Eudora, Sally's best friend, and are engaged to be married. He has finally gotten his life together. But Linus and Rerun gets the shock of their lives when their Aunt Marian gets in contact with them and announces that their mother, Lacey, is terminally ill, and wants to see them to settle their differences before she dies. PART 2: Charlie and Violet, now proud parents to two 3-year-old twins, has settled into the hustle-bustle of Los Angeles. Will Violet allow Kathleen back in her life after all these years? Also Patty comes to visit with her twins in tow. But where's her husband, Mark? PART 3: Mark makes a surprise visit to California wanting to get Patty and the boys back. Meanwhile back in Sparkyville, Tricia and Roy gets some of the best news in their lives. PART 3 (In Development): Back in Sparkyville, the gang realize they miss Charlie Brown more than some of them want to admit. Violet starts to see the ramifications of her treatment of Charlie Brown, as does Lucy, reluctantly. Linus, meanwhile, keeps in contact with him and they share everything that's going on. PART 4 (In Development): While Sally struggles to get along with the new kids at school, Charlie Brown actually becomes quite popular, for the right reasons. He even scores a girl who is interested in him. Snoopy decides to send for Woodstock to stay with him in the new town they're in, as he misses him. PART 5 (In Development): Peppermint Patty and Marcie go cross-country to visit Charlie Brown in his new town. They are in for a surprise when they see him with his new friends. Back in Sparkyville, Lucy tries to find a new Charlie Brown for her to torment, but no one else will placate the fussbudget, or even tolerate her crabbiness and mean attitude like Charlie Brown did. She finally realizes that she took him for granted. PART 6 (In Development): Woodstock arrives in the Brown's new town, and Snoopy is elated that his little buddy is back in his life. Meanwhile, Sally finally has had enough and wants to go back to Sparkyville. She gives the family a shock when she runs away. PART 7 (In Development): After getting Sally back from running away, the Browns make a decision on whether or not to move back to their old town or stay in the new town. Also back in Sparkyville, everyone laments about how much they really miss Charlie Brown. Lucy, in particular, is near tears when his name is mentioned. PART 8 (FINALE)(In Development): The Brown family returns to Sparkyville, and Charlie Brown, in particular, is amazed at the reception he receives after returning. Snoopy and Woodstock remodels Snoopy's doghouse after returning. The Mean Girl Trio of Lucy, Violet, and Patty, attempts to make peace with Charlie Brown. Alternate Universe PEANUTS Stories Primarily what this is are stories that are in no way connected to The Next Chapter or even the Lost Cause saga. This is not even a series itself; just a collection of different PEANUTS-related stories that will differ from the others, similar to my One-Shots, but longer. Some will have them as kids like in the strip, and some will have them as adults or teens. I may throw one in from time to time, but don't expect one every time. Just when I have a good idea or something. This will also be used to possibly serve RQs I have received since being on FanFiction. Breaking Point- After being pushed too far by Violet, Charlie Brown lashes out at her in the most unimaginable way for him. His friends and enemies re-examine how they treat others, and how THEY would want to be treated. And it leads to a shocking conclusion. Memories of France- A 21 year old Charlie Brown finds himself thinking about his trip to France he took as a kid and wonders what Violette, the girl who gave him his grandfather's satchel, is up to. Along with Linus, he travels back to that French village and even gets reacquainted with Pierre, as well. The Normal One- Rerun Van Pelt laments being the baby brother to two of the weirdest kids in town. With his oldest sibling being the crabbiest and bossiest girl in the whole neighborhood, and his older brother holding a blanket and believing in the Great Pumpkin, he wonders if he's doomed to be as weird as they are, or will he actually turn out normal. A Ray of Hope- Taking place after the events of "Inherent Superiority" (written by Crazy Rob), Charlie Brown, now rich from the lawsuits due to him being abused by many folks in town and the sales of his book "Blockhead" and the movie based off of it, is still in a dark place, unable to be happy unless one of his tormentors is being tormented. Near the brink, he receives a lifeline in the form of his old friend Franklin inviting him to Hawaii which will alter his life in a way he never expected. Did I Come On Too Strong?- An older Peppermint Patty reflects on her old crush on Charlie Brown. She realizes that she may have ruined any kind of chance with being with him with her pushiness and not being totally straight about her feelings for him. When she looks him up one day and sees that he is still single, will she get that second chance at love with him? Karma's A B*ch (In Development)- Lucy has poked fun at Charlie Brown for years, saying how he was doomed to fail. But as they become adults, they see how the tables had turned in the most dramatic way possible. (Suggested by Zahir890) After The Breaking Point (In Development)- Picking up a few years later after "Breaking Point", Violet reunites with her old friends in high school. She has a chance to make things right with Charlie Brown, but will he want anything to do with her after all this time? Plus he has drastically improved since that fateful day. You Can't Go Home Again (In Development)- An adult Charlie Brown returns to his old town after years of being away. He sees that most of his old friends had moved away, but a few stayed and he catches up with them. He also notices some of the changes in the old neighborhood. The Blanket Incident (In Development)- In probably my darkest fanfic yet, when Lucy purposely destroys Linus's blanket in another attempt to rid him of the habit, rather than go into the usual hysterics he usually does, Linus plots a revenge plan against his older sister to take something SHE likes away from HER. And it has dire consequences. More to come... Budget & Beagle This is a series starring Lucy (Budget, short for "Fussbudget") and Snoopy (Beagle, obviously) as a crime fighting duo solving mysteries around Sparkyville. This series was created by request of a reader. Case #1: Will the Real Violet Gray Please Stand Up?- When Violet starts acting different, like actually being nice to Charlie Brown, people suspect she's an imposter. Budget and Beagle take up the case to find out if anything happened to Violet. Case #2: The Straight-Hair Bandit (In Development)- Frieda prided herself on her naturally curly hair. So when it straightens out all of the sudden, along with other curly-haired girls, Budget and Beagle investigates why it's happening. Case #3: Where Have All the Pumpkins Gone? (In Development)- Linus's waiting for the Great Pumpkin is interrupted when all of the pumpkins in the area had vanished. It is up to Budget and Beagle to find out why. Case #4: Woodstock's Nest Is Missing (AGAIN!) (In Development)- Woodstock's nest is missing again, and having taken it before, Sally's the prime suspect (see It's A Mystery, Charlie Brown). She hires Budget and Beagle to prove her innocence and find the actual culprit. More to come... Crossovers Snoopy vs. Predator (In Development)- In my first-ever crossover story, the PEANUTS gang travel to a tropical island paradise only to be greeted by a Predator trying to kill them. (NOTE: This will be part of the PEANUTS: The Next Chapter universe, though not in canon with the series) |
