Ah, so cute. You did a great job with the characterization and the whole feel of the piece is very "Tolkien," if that makes sense. Also, Legolas' mother seems like a lovely lady! I got a kick out of Legolas trying to interject and explain who she was while Gimli, Pippin, and Merry, kept on in their assumption.

Aww, this was lovely. It's always difficult being away from family for an extended period of time, and always a pleasure being able to introduce them to your friends. Clearly, something that is normally so obvious relations-wise is thwarted by immortality in the case of elves, and it certainly made for an amusing exchange!

You have Legolas' mother ALIVE - there are so many writers who have her dead (I'm one of them, I have to confess), so it's pretty refreshing to actually meet her alive and well.

But yes, this is a good story, amusing and a little touching at the same time. Thank you!

Anyway, I'm going to go and get on with writing my own now...

I absolutely loved this story! It was so sweet and gentle, just a wonderful interlude, so to speak. I'm always really intrigued by the relationships between the different cultures of Middle-earth (elves, hobbits, dwarves, etc.), and I love how you explored that theme here. I'd love it if the story continued in some way!

Wow I love this! Definitely more light-hearted than the other ones you've written, so it gives out quite a new feeling ) Would be really awesome if you extend it or write another one with these characters. I'd love to know how Legolas' siblings and Gimli would deal with one another! D

Definitely a new story- you can't possilby leave it there without returning the favour to Gimli! Beautifully written- I love your hobbits- they are exaclty as Tolkien would have written them.
