To be honest, this was too OOC for me. I love Cogsworth and i highly doubt he would be so... brave, i guess. Sorry, but this didn't quite work out for me.

Aww... such a cute story. Don't listen to those nasty reviews; those people are just idiots. You should conintue with your Lumiere/Cogsworth pairing. It's adorable -

My problem here isn't the slash - I'm open to any pairing IF it's done well - but the fact that they're totally OOC, which you admit right up front. You didn't even TRY to write Lumiere and Cogsworth in character, and that's very disappointing in any fanfic. To me, what makes an unconventional pairing interesting is seeing the author find a way to bring it about in a believable way while keeping the characters IN character. I myself am writing a Gaston/Belle pairing in the "Beauty and the Beast" category, and I've put a LOT of effort into keeping them in character while taking them step by step in this very different direction. But in this story, these characters were not Cogsworth and Lumiere at ALL - they didn't talk like the movie characters, they didn't have ANY of the movie characters' personality traits, habits or quirks. And you didn't give any REASON why they were attracted to each other, aside from the VERY strange notion that Lumiere finds clocks sexually attractive (i.e. he's attracted to "your numbers, the lovely ticking sound you make...") It didn't make any sense. I don't mean this to be a flame - I just feel that the most important aspect of fanfic is to keep the characters IN character, as much as possible. Otherwise, you might as well just be writing an original stories with new characters you made up.

OOC or not, no. No way. Don't take this personally, but I really just can't stand people implying that Lumi and Cogs are an item. Sorry, no can do. Lumi and Babs forever.

I . . . will try to be polite, despite the way I keep making this withery whimpering sound whenever I think about this. Assuming that this isn't trollery:

1.) Lumiere and Cogsworth are best friends, not "omg!11 hott 4 eac utha!1". There *is* a difference.

2.) Don't mess with Lumiere/Babette. They're very much a couple in the movie and on the stage. In love in "Belle's Magical World" and *very* flirtatious/adoring in the original movie and stage musical.

3.) I don't think Babette would be amused by Lumiere and Cogsworth "making out." I'm seeing a nuclear prima donna fit in response from her, myself.
