Author has written 9 stories for From Eroica With Love, Inuyasha, Pet Shop of Horrors, and Watchmen.

Please resist the urge to bitch at me if I left a review, any review, that you didn't like.

Stop yourself. Brood over it. Calm down, 'cause I don't need to read your rant and then your following apology.

You're free to say whatever you want, of course.

Just think about it first.

Please? Thanks.

But if I get anyone else who feels like reviewing a fic of mine hellbent on misplaced revenge...

You know what? Just don't do it. It's retarded. Don't make a public idiot of yourself. Review my fics honestly and without a personal vendetta. Please? It's just being fair to me.

Thanks again.

Unimportant Drivel:

Seventeen going on eighteen. Almost out of high school and it can't come fast enough.

Californian.

Planning on being a high school English teacher.

Would rather be a novelist; both jobs seem just dandy doodle, though.

I like movies, funny stuff, making fun of crappy stuff, comics, manga, music, and lots of other things that I don't feel like listing ever again on a public domain. You'll just have to ask or make your own assumptions, mmkay?

Oh, look, a rant:

You know all of those cute little fads that float around ? Mainly I'm talking about the GIANT LIST OF LABELS and the stereotypes associated with them.

Uh, yeah, here's what's hilarious about this particular one I found:

For people that hate stereotypes: If you think people should just shut up and stop, put this on your profile. (BOLD the ones you are.)

(BOLD the ones you are.)

the ones you are.)

the ones you are.

ones you are.

That's right: If you hate stereotypes and labels, post this list of stereotypes on your profile and BOLD the labels that apply to you! Categorize yourself while speaking out against stereotypes!

It's very cute, don't you think, how people struggle to be unique little snowflakes by having these GIANT LIST OF STEREOTYPES OH MAN and then at the very same time want to categorize themselves into a group so they can feel offended by this list and justified in posting it, but also, more importantly, feel like they belong to one of these labels and share the strife of those who are labeled this as well?

What's the word for that again? I think it's started with an "H"... hm, it's like hippogriff, but not quite...

What's more ironic is that lists like this perhaps further perpetuates the stereotypes it hopes to stamp out, as I see the cute little authors that put this on their profile comment, "Wow! I've never heard of that stereotype before!" or something to that effect. Instead of erasing a particular stereotype, now a dozen more people know that Polish people are stereotyped as wearing socks with their sandals or being greedy, where before they may not have known that Polish people were associated with anything bad. Not to mention by purely associating stereotypes with labels, it unconsciously links the two together, but that's perhaps a bit too abstract and psychological for this argument.

As well, some of these are highly offensive, just by suggesting that one surely links to the other, or by the way they use language. For instance:

I'm a NEGRO so I MUST carry a gun.

How antiquated is that? Negro? Honestly? This list didn't come out 'til the conception of the internet, and I'm pretty damn sure we stopped using that word about twenty or thirty years ago.

I'm ATHEIST so I MUST hate the world.

I've never heard of that. Where on earth does it come from?

I'm DEMOCRAT, so I MUST not believe in being responsible.

And that? Again, I can't even imagine who really thinks this.

I am LIBERAL, so I MUST be gay.

What?!

I wear SKIRTS a lot, so I MUST be a slut.

Skirts in general? Mini, short, knee-length and long? Professional and for fun? Since when has that stereotype even existed?!

I FELL IN LOVE WITH A MARRIED MAN, so I MUST be a home-wrecking whore.

And that one is just plain stupid, seeing as how you definitely have the choice of NOT carrying out an affair with a married person, while most of these other labels are things that you either ethnically, geographically, sexually or ideologically can't help. So sorry if I think you're a home-wrecking whore, but you definitely had the time to think things through, dear!

And to go with my argument that this list only perpetuates stereotypes:

I HAVE A BUNCH OF GUY FRIENDS, so I MUST be fucking them all.
I HAVE A BUNCH OF GIRLS WHO ARE FRIENDS, so I MUST be a player.

I ask you: why the FUCK were these two alike things displayed so differently? When it's a girl with guy friends, they are "fucking all of them," but the guy with girl friends gets the label of a "player." I can tell you right now which one I'd rather be associated with, but which one I'm automatically not because of my gender. Double-standards existing in a list that seeks to dispel stereotypes is just plain stupid.

To avoid beating a dead horse, how about everyone just stop giving a flying fuck what idiots who really believe these stereotypes think? All this list does is prove that you're incredibly self-conscious and actually care that people might think you're gay, or a slut, or an idiot, or a bitch, or whatever the hell other negative stereotype people may associate yourself with. Who cares what people like that think? They're idiots. They'll never stop being idiots, because people always prejudge. There are just too many people in the world for you to care about the opinions of each and everyone of them. Let it go, kick back, relax, and start laughing at these ridiculous stereotypes instead of letting them upset you.

And of course, stop passing around that stupid list, because it does nothing but spread the ignorance that it wishes to stamp out.

Thanks.
