Shepard wakes, only mostly not dead, too soon while in Cerberus clutches. She escapes, and is chased to the only place she can hide; Omega. No team, no supplies, no information, no armor, no funds. To survive, she makes a deal with a quarian salvage dealer, only to discover that same dealer has something in common with her; a certain turian vigilante acquaintance.

She had helped those trapped, rescued those from the hands of the walkers- and in return she was robbed, beaten, and fucking stabbed for all her efforts. She finds ease in the life of the Dixon's and not having to care for them, or them for her. Who knows how long that will last. Authors Warning: No damsel in distress to find here. If you like that kind of thing- steer clear.

AU. Eight years before sovereign and during the first contact war, Corporal Shepard was 18 years old and fresh out of basic.
