An AU set on the birthday weekend. How did it come to this? What would have provoked Kate to lash out like that? Why was it so hard for Caroline to book a double room? It made me ponder what the back story could be...and...how would I have resolved the weekend?

It's been a long while since I've posted any stories...but these two...they just beg for more. My take on a Caroline and Kate beginning. Heavy on character in the beginning, but will try to move into more dialogue driven updates in future. The characters are not of my own making. However, they do bend to my will...in my wee corner of the universe. If only on screen, too!

As we head towards series three being aired on UK TV, there are rumours that Last Tango will not have the happy ending that the fans are hoping for. I am indebted to Sally Wainwright for her wonderful creations but just in case she has trauma and sadness in mind for Kate and Caroline, here at least they will remain happy ever after...

These character's of Sally Wainwright have captured my imagination. I've never wanted a good book to end - or an exceptional Series such as Last Tango in Halifax. So I'm experimenting with taking them beyond the storyline while attempting to stay true to what Sally has given us to this point, the end of season 2. My thanks to everyone who brought this production to us.

An AU story set when Caroline comes home from Oxford one summer and meets a young Kate. What could have happened if they had met back then.

It's a working process but I've had few ideas to start with, looking at Dr Caroline Elliot her past, the present and the future. And then there is Kate...

a prequel that tells the story of the first kiss - thanks for all the kind words and encouragement for my maiden voyage - you and the other folks who write here are an inspiration. Finally, can I just say that it was just wrong to have so many splendid versions of a lesbian romance, none of which involved dogs. So that's the canon omission I'm responding to.

What would have happened if Kate and Caroline had grown closer when Caroline's marriage was still intact? Would they have resisted all temptation or been drawn into a painful love affair? My second story for McElliot.
