With the odds stacked against them, SHIELD assigns the only available agent they have left to get them back, the only trouble is, that Agent is Clint Barton. And the team he's after, he shouldn't even know exists.

Tony has problems in the aftermath of the fight with the Chitauri, but his team is there and, hey, he's just been to space, give a guy some slack. The next morning they accept, but when he collapses weeks later, they're not going to let him brush it off again.

The Avengers undergo experimental treatment to try and improve their field world. It seems to work... At first. But the team become trapped in a world where their nightmares might kill them, and some of them have a lot more to fear than the others.

Natasha hears something in the middle of the night, and she learns an interesting piece of information about her fearless leader, changing everything she thought she knew about him. Before she can hear the whole story, she is interrupted by a battle that was supposed to be quick and easy. But nothing is ever as easy as it seems. Steve/Natasha. Natasha and Clint were caught during a mission (not having any extraction plan) and the rest of the team go to find them, but get caught too. This is a series of status updates I formed into a story. It details the abduction, torture, and escape of Black Widow during a mission gone horribly, horribly wrong. The Fantastic Four are in a big fight against thugs with powerful weapons, when Johnny suddenly disappears. Sue is going out of her mind as she's terrified for her brother, but after missing for several days, Johnny suddenly shows back up, very ill and with no powers. Reed, Sue, and Ben help him to recover, but all he can remember was pain and that Victor von Doom was responsible.

They didn't notice. Well, not at first, that it was getting this bad, that it would get this bad, this far. They didn't notice the sleepless nights down in the lab, never coming and eating with them, the slow but still should have been noticeable weight loss, the heavy, almost black bags under his eyes. Clint fired the arrow, ducking down as it exploded. The sonic boom bounced off the metal walls, piercing Hawkeye's hardly shielded ears. He collapsed, acknowledging one thing before the blackness enveloped him; He couldn't hear anything.

With all the Avengers have been through in their short time together, flying through a portal and then falling back doesn't seem like much – nor does it feel like much to Tony either before he realizes he might as well carve a line into the wall next to Afghanistan and the palladium poisoning...
