Update 08/03/2017:

Just by writing the update date on my profile, I felt goosebumps! Wow, it's been long since I last visited here and updated my profile. For those who are curious, I am doing pretty well in the real world with my real-life problems to deal with. A lot has happened since I've last uploaded a chapter of my story "Hired", which was like centuries ago. To my dear readers who have been waiting for the continuation of that story, please, please... do accept my sincerest apologies for everything! I'm sorry if you guys feel like I have made empty promises and have abandoned the story altogether. Please know that I will NEVER ever do that for my love for Kenshin Himura will NEVER die down. It would be a dishonor that I'll be bringing to his amazing fandom if I ever do that. I am in the midst of writing the next chapter, alternating between my busy real-life work and my fantasy. I just don't want to upload another chapter then take forever to upload the next one. So I'm planning to upload the continuation once I have a few more chapters completed, hopefully until end. I have jotted down an outline of what's gonna happen in the next chapters, so my only problem is stitching them all together. Please, Kami-sama, do lend me some writing skills again!

So that's it for now. It felt lighter after I have shared my thoughts here. Thanks so much to everyone for this wonderful community. I hope to be able to upload again the very soonest! :)

Update 05/19/2014:

It's been months since I last visited this website (and updated my story). Got busy with work stuff and other personal engagements. So here's a bit of an update for those following some (hopefully, all) of my stories:

Hired: Chapter 24 in progress. I'm halfway done with the chapter, so it should be uploaded soon. To everyone who reviewed/followed/favorited this story, thank you so much for the support. Rest assured that I will not, and will never, abandon this story.

Strangers: I've written the next chapters but still haven't uploaded them. But I do intend to finish this too, so please hang on.

Hello there!

My real name is Vaness, from the Philippines :)

I'm just a silent lurker on this site - browsing, reading stories from my favorite fandoms. But I have written a few stories from my most favorite series (you can pretty much guess what that is).

I am currently obsessed with a handsome swordsman by the name of Kenshin Himura. I'm SO obsessed with him that I wish he really exists in our world! Sometimes, I look around trying to find a certain red-haired guy with a cross-shaped scar on his left cheek. But so far, all my efforts hadn't gone anywhere. But I won't give up :)

So that explains why I call myself as RaccoonGirlKaoru. This way, I can at least pretend that I am his love interest. At least :)

My other favorite animes include Yu Yu Hakusho, Detective Conan, Dragon Ball Z, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Fushigi Yuugi, Fruits Basket, Hana Yori Dango.

My favorite animated movies are Finding Nemo (have watched it more than 30 times), Shrek, Up, Toy Story (especially TS3, the tearjerker), Tangled, and almost all Pixar movies.

I am also a Harry Potter fan. When I've got nothing to do, I watch the movie series from first to last in just one day! I have done this a few times before. I was so bored then, but I never get tired of Harry.

And oh - I'm also a big fan of fairy tales! I may be on my twenties, but I still get the jitters and giggles on those love stories. I especially love Beauty and the Beast (and I'm happy that there are a couple of fics here related to it). I also love Cinderella. If you haven't watched the Japanese animated version (Cinderella Monogatari), I suggest you do. That is, if you're a Cinderella or any fairy tale fanatic like me.

As I said, I'm a princess waiting for my prince charming. But again, a certain red-haired swordsman would do :)

I'd like to take this opportunity to discuss my stories:

Hired: I'm currently working on this fic. It started out as a spur-of-the-moment story. The idea of Kenshin being a strict and overprotective dad, and Kaoru being a nanny just popped out of my head. Thank goodness, I was able to expand the idea and now I'm in the middle of daydream trying to figure out what will happen next. If you want some feel-good-not-so-serious type of story, then you might want to check this out.

Strangers: The idea is from a Filipino movie about two people who met each other by chance. I have written the next few chapters of this fic, but haven't published yet. It's kinda long and less comical. But it's still on the romantic and more mature side. For those interested in this story, please hang on. I promise I will continue this after my other fic is done. Thank you for your appreciation, still.

I Know Him So Well: At first I planned this story to be a one-shot only. Then I changed my mind and decided to write a continuation. Then I changed my mind again. So for now, I'd like to leave it as it is. But from time to time, I get tempted to continue this fic again. Such a cute little story about Kenshin and Kaoru.

Her Most Beautiful Smile: My first attempt at a fic. I know it's not so good for a start. Just so-so. But I'd still like to thank those who found interest in it. It may be cheesy to some and a bit OOC. But hey, did I mention that I love cheesy and overly romantic stuff?

To everyone who have followed/reviewed/favorited me and/or my stories, thank you very much! I just love it every time I receive some email notifications. You inspire me a lot. You just don't know it :)
