I've often found that in stories we lose ourselves within the words and pages. Some of us are mere bystanders, we come across a story and fall unexpectedly, but hopelessly in love with it. Some of us have always been willing prisoners of the worlds that words create. And some of us are the ones that write the words into breath-taking stories.

While I've always had a love of reading, I've not always been a part of fandoms. One day I was walking along, minding my own business when the fandom life ran past me, but stopped to grab me and pulled me along. I've never looked back. My interests in fandoms then lead me to the world of fanfiction. It wasn't until my junior year in high school did I write my first piece of fanfciction and it was a total accident! My young adult literature class assigned us to write a random fiction story. So I wrote a six page story and the day before it was due I showed it to my friend who had the same class. When she finished reading it she told me that it strongly resembled the plot to an already existing book! I showed my teacher to explain that I wasn't cheating or copying the book. She just smiled and said it was fine, that I could still hand it in. When I received it back there was a little note attached. It simply read: You should consider writing more stories like this, you make the words come alive.
