![]() Author has written 19 stories for Mario, Harry Potter, and Song of the Lioness. I should make this clear: First, I do NOT accept requests. I have enough stories that I want to write and hardly the luxury of time. Also, I should have Chapter 29 of SOL up before the end of September (hopefully sooner)! Everything's been crazy ever since the end of September 2019, and I wasn't given that much time to edit or write. Also, I wanted to edit the formatting and certain sections of the story, although these changes will not affect the plot itself. Greetings, dear readers, strangers and wanderers. You have stumbled upon the page of the noble, the wise and the weird Hip, as well as some other works by FireLily (see below). Actually, I’m unsure whether I am any of those descriptions, but I do try. But yeah. I'm the writer of Shards of Love (in the works in some form or another since 2000), Royal Trouble (Idea/outlined in 2000-01; first typed in 2017) and the Four Sages series (Idea/outlined since 2001, first typed in 2016). These three series contain my personal headcanon on Mario, Bowser and the overall Mushroom World since I first started Shards of Love in May 2000. I didn't want to start them simultaneously until a few years ago, which explains how aged they are relative to when they were first published. I used to share this account with my SO, FireLily. In fact, several of the stories are actually collaborations between her and me, and a few she actually wrote herself. Only the Mario ones being one-hundred percent mine. By the way, thanks for visiting, reading, reviewing, favoriting and following! I don't necessarily have much time to read fanfics, but I will try my best to read and review the stories of those who support me. Note: I’m quite loyal. I don’t ever remove my favorite or follow from a story unless it genuine gone off-road and turned into a complete wreck. This rarely happens though. I’ve had this account since 2000, yet I only recall doing this twice ever. It has to be terrible before I lose my loyalty. Also, I rarely favorite incomplete stories, but if they’re effective in sucking me in, then it’s well-deserved! Uhh... I guess I’ll include other stuff. Name: Just call me Hip. I’ve had that nickname for quite awhile. Date of Birth: July 27 Stories: I wrote all the Mario stories, FireLily wrote all the Song of the Lioness stories and we collaborated for all the Harry Potter stories. Simple, right? Story Types: Humor and parodies, with a dramatic or romantic story or two. Nintendo Switch Friend Code: 3836-6246-9982 (Feel free to add me, especially for MK8 and SSBU) Current Stories: - Shards of Love: Peach gets kidnapped after her wedding with Mario. However, after experiencing an upheaval relating to the Koopas' history, she decides her love to Mario is dead and gone, and a new love may be cropping up. - Current stats: over 35,000 views, 90 favorites, 110 followers and 110,000 words! Thank you for 19 years of wonderful support, and I’m hoping for good things to come during the 20th! - Also on the recommended Mario fanfics page on TVTropes! I never thought I’d get a recommendation anywhere nor did I ever try, so this was a great bonus. thank you! Expected length: ~50 chapters - Royal Trouble: Civil War drives the three eldest Koopalings to the Real World. While Ludwig and Lemmy grew up in great conditions, Roy's situation is less than optimal. After finding a pipe back to the Mushroom Kingdom, he must get accustomed to his natural home. Expected length: 14-15 chapters - Return of the Four Sages 1: Royal Flush: Multiple royal figures disappear, causing skepticism within the multiple countries of Plit. But these disappearances are from obtaining knowledge of a dark secret; anyone who learns it will be abducted. Estimated length: 18 chapters Future Stories (titles subject to change): - Plumber Trouble: A story much like Royal Trouble, but it chronicles the life of Luigi, from his earliest memories, to him finding the Mushroom Kingdom and other events just before Shards of Love. - Return of the Four Sages: Overboard: Book #2 of the Return of the Four Sages series. This story reflects an ages-old evil taking advantage of Book 1's dark secret. - Return of the Four Sages: World of Refuge: Book #3. After the destruction of multiple societies, the characters of the Mario Universe must learn to seek refuge while simultaneously fighting the same evil. - Return of the Four Sages: The Thirteenth Age: Book #4. A new age begins to descend upon society, and the Four Sages must appease the gods responsible for its inauguration. More in-depth summaries are not given due to potential spoilers. More in the future. Random writing facts: 1. My stance on OC's: I'm not a fan of OC protagonists. It's much easier for an OC to become a Mary Sue than for a canonical character I find. I'm just not much of a fan of most of these types of stories. They almost never come out relatable compared to a canonical character. OC antagonists, however, are a different story; many times, they end up being better than typical antagonists (probably because of the same criticisms I have about protagonists), and I use them in my stories. 2. I consider my stories to be like a human body. In other words, I separate my stories into multiple parts, or "organ systems": - First, the skeleton part: this contains only dialogue, basic actions and very basic details. Many chapters, if not the entire story, is written in this manner before I even proceed to the second step. Much like the body's skeleton, this provides the framework and foundation of the chapter/story. - Next, the muscular part: this contains transitions and minor detail in order to make the story flow better. Much like the body's use of tendons, ligaments and skeletal muscle, it holds the foundation together and prevents the "skeleton" from being too choppy. - Afterward, the nervous part (or the sensory part): This converts the story from a "telling" (as the two previous phases would do) to a "showing," and this allows the story to have a life of its own. Sensory details are heavily involved in this, much like the brain, spinal cord and nerves would be in the nervous system. - Lastly, the skin: This pretty much covers everything not done under the three processes. This gives the chapter/story more style, such as literary devices, a more character-specific tone in dialogue, dialect and whatnot. The visual styling of the chapters also fits in here. Only with all four processes can I declare a story "good" enough to publish. Each takes time for me to be in the mood for; some days I'm only in the mood for one style and forcing myself into one of the other three only creates a mess. Hence, I never outright claim to have an update schedule. 3. I tend to base my stories in the same, or similar universes. For example, Royal Trouble, Shards of Love and the Four Sages series are all in the same universe (as in the events of one story carries into the next) but occurring at different time periods. They technically act as prequels and sequels to each other, but I do NOT consider these three to be a trilogy, sequels or officially connected. 4: I base my three biggest stories (Royal Trouble, Shards of Love, and the Four Sages series) on a certain cult (no spoilers will be given). My Four Sages series especially goes into detail about the group, although the others do mention them or individual members. Each story deals with the cult in different ways, best described as this: Royal Trouble: Dealing with the effects of the cult's magic. Shards of Love: Dealing with the cult's magic itself. Four Sages series: Dealing with the causes of the cult's magic. 5: Likewise, my three series also focuses on different tenses: Shards of Love's main focus is on the past (civil war) Royal Trouble's main focus is on the present (daily living) The Four Sages Series' main focus is on the future (apocalypse) Names on other websites (As of 2019) FanFiction: You're on it right now, you little joker! This mainly has my 2000 works on here, as well as FireLily's stuff. In 2001, I transferred my Mario works to LL. Fictionpress: Hip Neptune (I might just delete it though since I’ve got into Fanfictions much more.) 2018 UPDATE: My Fictionpress is no more! Lemmy’s Land: Under the tourist name “Hip”. I have dozens of scribbles and Mario cartoon parodies on there already. Mainly contains my 2001-2005 works. Note that much of my work's inaccessible; I may archive these on AO3 DeviantART: Bowserisgod (I won’t use this much at all except to admire art every now and then.) I may make another account but I don’t know if I actually will. 2018 UPDATE: I no longer use dA. Last visit was roughly 3-4 years ago. AO3: Hip_Neptune (will eventually contain work that I won't be able to post on FFN) To my dear Moose, I may be thousands of kilometres away from you, but remember that although I am not with you physically, I will always think of you and wish for your success in life. I am so thankful for finding a good-natured, talented young woman like you during my high school career. Although you visited me for only months at a time for the past six years, words cannot describe how much I miss you being by my side the months you aren't with me. Though rough seas split the two of us physically, you will always have my heart, my love, my hope, and I know that you feel the same way. You are the cure to my bad days, the catalyst of my good days and the spark of energy pushing me along when all I want to do is to give up and collapse. Moose, I am the luckiest guy in the world to have you as my love and for me to be yours. I would never trade you, nor all the memories we formed together, for all the riches the entire universe has to offer us. You are an important piece of my life; an irreplacable piece makes me who I am today. I thank you for being patient enough to befriend a silly ... whatever... like me since 2000 and dating me eight years later. With my infinite love, Hip |
