Their song "Platypus (I hate You)" was named so becuase Billie always wanted to call a song Platypus.

"Good Riddance" was written about Billie's ex girlfriend that moved to Ecuador.

"80" is a song about Adirenne. And Adie being her nickname, it ryhmes with eighty.

Having their masters stolen led them to writing American Idiot.

"Homecoming" started off as Mike writing his part as a joke while he was alone at the studio. They all kept writing 30 second songs, leading to the final writing of the song.
