"It's your move my dear."

"I know, I know, don't rush me."

"…"

"Hmmm…"

"Do you need some-"

"Bless it angel, if you don't-"

"Alright, alright, I'm sorry."

"Blessed straight you're sorry, think you can just rush a guy, and be all bossy-"

"- I was hardly being bossy."

"You were so being bossy!"

Crowley glared over the top of his sunglasses. Aziraphale held up his hands in mock surrender, and settled back into his chair.

They were sitting in St James Park. Normally they would just sit by the lake and feed the ducks, but today Aziraphale had quite innocently asked the demon to join him in a game of chess.

They were getting a few looks from passing pedestrians; it must have been odd to see a man dressed in a sharp black suit with blood red tie playing a man dressed like he stepped out of the 1950s. None of the looks lasted long – you get all types at St James after all.

While Crowley continued to stare at the board dark clouds gathered overhead. Aziraphale gazed at them for a long moment. He opened his mouth.

"Angel, if you say one more word, you're walking home."

His mouth closed.

A few rain drops fell. Aziraphale was shocked to see one actually land on Crowley, who flinched. It hissed, rising as steam. Crowley leaned back, frowning at the sky. As the rain began to fall, the drops obediently avoided Crowley's person.

"You could have warned me abo-" Crowley turned to scowl at Aziraphale and paused.

The angel had his head thrown back, his arms opened wide, welcoming the downpour. Water soaked his hair and clothes and traced intricate patterns down his neck. For once in his long existence, Crowley was speechless; all he could do was stare.

After what seemed like an eternity Aziraphale returned his gaze to Crowley, smiling softly. He nodded towards the chess board between them. Crowley smirked and crossed his arms, he waved a hand and all the pieces disappeared.

Aziraphale chuckled, "Really dear?"

Crowley stood, "Yes really." He walked around the table and offered an arm to the angel, "Lets get you dried off, yeah?"

Aziraphale laughed and took the demons arm. Crowley pulled the angel close and snaked an arm around his waist.

"Lets get outta here."
