Love this story can’t wait for more! I hope she gets more involved in all the drama though

I have to admit I’m a little disappointed; I’d been hoping she’d at least pose a challenge to Hisoka, especially since he’s holding back. I still hope she’s not going to be relegated to the background as an unremarkable onlooker, just stuck watching her little brother be the prodigious shounen protag he is. Fingers crossed for growth and discovery of personal potential apart from her brother/father.

I, personally, have had quite enough of fem OCs monologuing about how mundane and powerless they feel, & how much stronger/smarter the canon characters are. They usually end up being coddled by canon characters bc of sentiment, and mainly serve to motivate others by getting hurt/being vulnerable or even helpless.

That’s why I so appreciated Ruka’s physical aptitude in the earlier chapters, her sound observations, and her mysterious past apart from the canon story/characters. I was, and am still, hoping to see her developed more along these lines, as an independent character created to be the protagonist of her own story (this fic), with her own past/motivations/skills/talents/etc.

Still, the missing punctuation in the dialogue grates...but everything else is ace. I like how Ruka has the same kind of physical advantages Gon seems to have inherited from Ging. I wonder if you’re ever going to bring up their mother though?
I liked the archery addition, too. Yay for a well-read female lead who can properly defend herself! Excited to see how this skill interacts with her potential Nen abilities in the future.
This line had me scratching my head: “Killua thought the woman was particularly weird, especially the way they acted together.” Lol, I don’t know if Killua doesn’t know they’re siblings, or if he just has no idea what a normal sibling relationship looks like. Considering his family, I wouldn’t be surprised if it were the latter.

The only negative for me so far is the missing punctuation in the dialogue. Other than that, I’m thoroughly enjoying this. Your writing is good, your characters are likable, and the OC-added plot is interesting. Thumbs up from me!
