Many think a picture is worth a thousand words, but I say that a single word is worth a thousand pictures. As writers, we bring who we are with us to the paper and ink; all our experiences, thoughts, hopes, and dreams. The sum of all we are and have done or hope to do transforms writing from a mere method a communication to a context through which we view life and share our dearest hopes and darkest fears. This endless dialogue is how we come to imagine things never thought possible, to enhance the ability to share ourselves honestly and boldly. Every idea a writer sparks is like an atom that will strike another and transfer its momentum, fueling a chain reaction of thoughts and possibilities. Voices of men and women long dead can be heard, reverberating full of the sound, the echo of what they believed, what they lived and died for. Through writing, they have crossed the chasm of time, beyond nation and culture, beyond life and death itself to bring their hallowed message to any who will listen. "In the beginning, there was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God." - John 1:1. The word is still the most powerful thing in the world, they say the pen is mightier than the sword, but I say that the pen is mightier than the atomic bomb. The world is more malleable than any of us can imagine, and the written word is but one of many ways to shape the world into a better future. Of late I have been very busy, but I love to write. I write much more than just fanfiction, as my interests extend to nearly everything in the spirit of the renaissance man. For those of you who enjoyed previous Fanfiction of the Year contests, I regret to inform you that there will not be another contest held indefinitely. I want to simply focus on updating my stories so that I can finish them. I apologize to any who enjoyed this opportunity to showcase your work, and wish that I could provide more opportunities, but I cannot. Thank you. PLEASE READ - ANNOUNCEMENT ON MY CONTINUED WORK: To my readers, my inspiration. Although there was initially some indications that my retirement might have been coming earlier than expected, I’ve decided to continue working on CT. Obviously, I hope to finish this undertaking, but I’ve realized that if I am to finish it, I will have to buckle down. Having read this far and invested this much time in this story, you deserve a conclusion, a resolution, closure and solace. And I intend to give you that I realize that I've... allowed the account to wane in notoriety and following with my long periods of inactivity, and I’ll make no excuses for that. Those are my fault. That's why... I've decided that I need to just... barrel down, and attempt to finish this thing off as quickly as I am able, in one final burst of creativity. I am setting a new goal: to compose one chapter of either CT... every other week. Obviously there will be some times when I won't be able to... If I get in one at least every few weeks I’ll be content, but if I have to stay up late, I will. It is my obligation, and whatever steps I must take to complete it, I will take them. Hopefully, I will have finished CT within the next year or so. A daunting task. I apologize for my long periods of inactivity; it was unfair for me to make you wait for so long to continue to read a story, especially when it has always been you, my faithful readers, who have inspired me to become more than I could’ve ever imagined. Below is a list of currently ongoing projects and a brief description of work which is currently being done: Crimson Twilight: My current priority. The sequel to In the End, in which all mysteries shall be laid bare. It will be even longer, darker, and more intense than the first one, and I can promise you, you do not expect what is coming. (Or at least not most of you.) -Updates as often as I can, ideally bi-weekly Ebony and Ivory: On hiatus for work on Crimson Twilight. This is its own standalone, multi-chapter story apart from the In the End Series and The Ultimate's Saga. One of the main reasons for its creation is that I have to state that. In it, I attempt to improve upon the Shadouge romance formula demonstrated in An Ultimate's Legacy, while still blending in the intense action and fight scenes demonstrated in In the End and Crimson Twilight. Oh yeah, and Dr. Eggman is the villain this time around, keeping things simple, yet once again demonstrating my ability to set up a frantic, suspenseful plot. Can I do this while still managing to accomplish a meaningful romance? Read for yourself and find out. Sonic the Parody 3 (working title): in early development. Untitled In the End Spin-off Oneshot(s): in early development. “Let the mystery continue.” Myz |
