I'm a twenty-something Suffolk lass currently working for an advertising agency in London.

I'm married to the lovely aeronq (another Red Dwarf fanfic author) who painstakingly betas all of my fics, helps fills in my plotholes and puts up with my Chris Barrie obsession. The perfect husband!

I've been asked several times how I write my fics, and unfortunately I don't think me explaining it is going to gain me much kudos. In fact, you'll probably think I make about as much sense as Gordon Brown.

I have a weird, random way of writing fics. Fic bunnies will usually come to me in a flash of inspiration on the tube on my way to and from work. I'll then usually develop those fic ideas in my head by picking a song on my ipod that best reflects the mood of the fic (or a particular chapter) and repeating it over and over, allowing the idea to develop in my minds eye. You asked for the madness, you got it.

I don't write fics chronologically. I don't even write chapters chronologically. Often I'll write the main point of action first and then build the fic around it. Sometimes my mind can't be bothered with the detail in the initial draft, so I'll start with the conversation and build around that. Ha, you still with me or are you standing over the other side of the room pretending you don't know me?

I've been writing Red Dwarf fan fiction since I was 14 in 1999. Safe to say I was pretty AWFUL at it until 2005 so most of my old fics have been obliterated off the surface of this planet so that they cannot be used for blackmail purposes. I'm particularly pleased with my Ace Chronicles works and the odd oneshot of mine I like snuggling up to on those cold nights (in fact, the ever-amazing Lauren Mitchell of RDSS fame rec'd one of them during her 'Bring a Friend to Your Fandom' day on her LJ! Most honoured).

Current work focus:

I'm now working on the chapter plan for a monster fic with MaxEvelyn called 'Cosmic Castaway' that we're going to release in a few months time (set after 'Back To Earth', 'Rimmer's Return' and 'The Prophecy'). Watch this space!

'The Ace Chronicles' - a series of ten fics that covers the ten years of Rimmer's life and adventures as Ace. The general over-arching storyline runs thus:

Rimmer's predecessor has managed to steal the Jadestone from Pizzak and the simulants - an element so dangerous, it can power their weapons of destruction for all of eternity - and hides it on Starbug when he passes on the flame to our Rimmer. Angered, Pizzak and the simulants capture and torture Rimmer on his first ever mission as Ace in a desperate attempt to get the Jadestone back. Our newly-forged hero manages to escape, yet inadvertently leaves the simulants with a consolation prize - a copy of the workings of the Dimension Jump Drive.

Over the years, Rimmer develops his social prowess through the use of his newly-acquired 'Babel Programme' (a loving nod to the great Adams), trains on Blerios 5 for four months in the art of swordsmanship and unarmed combat, and develops a less-than-healthy gunporn obsession (yes ok, that might be my fault...). On his travels, he bumps into a convict version of himself, meets his son and makes the worst mistake of his life.

And after a ten year absence from Red Dwarf, Rimmer is finally forced to return to face his demons, save his old crewmates, and defeat Pizzak and the simulants once and for all.

VI. 'Prisoner of the Mind' - A reworking of a fic I wrote 11 years ago. On visiting the industrial and mining planetoid Adelphi 12, Rimmer meets his convict alter ego, serving a life sentence of hard labour for the murder of his crewmates. But did he commit the crime?

I also have a series of slash fics for those of you so inclined, which runs along the same parallels, but in an AU setting to cover the R/L pairing and all ;-)

At the moment, I've put 'Secrets and Lies' on a temporary hiatus - basically my laptop died which had LOADS of the chapters I'd written on there and I lost everything. It took me so long to write, I can't bring myself to tackle it right away. Gutted :-(

I love reading Red Dwarf canon, AU, het, slash. In fact, I'm really not that fussy - as long as it's in character I'm an easy bunny to please!
