So here I am at the end of 2019, only now finding and reading this fic. Absolute mind-bending brilliance. I stand and applaud you. Reading this fic was one hell of a ride, and I enjoyed every heart-twisting moment.

That tangle of paradoxes is fascinating. The call of future chapters is tantalizing. Great job with at finally clearing some things with Rimmer. The last few chapters were the 'Marooned' kind sad, earnest kind of sweet, tinged with horror and desperation. I was wrong about many things, but also very sleepy, so... amazing fic, it doesn't always invoke the best reactions, but they are vivid and it makes you buzz with energy to read further.

Whyyyyy! Why would you do that to me?! First Wes, now THAT Billy-Idol-I-Don't-Want-To-Be fitting other parts established, and now I'm giggling fitting various stuff in my head. I may eat my words in later chapters or even this one, but now I'm imagining this Ace venture into heroics more like this than the original. :P

I forgot the one sided Kryten vs. Kochanski show! Erm... Now when good ol' Rimsy is the way he is, and with Kryten persistently being in the 'stake my claim' 'wife' and forgive me whiney and super needy. What happens? O_O
Oh well, for one thing now we know why Kochanski left.

Agh! Here I was mulling over of this story in my head and how Lister eventually keeps destroying the lives of all the Rimmers with his well meant choices and just generally bumbling through life, and now he owes no-error reactions and responses to situations previously starring an AU Lister or a phantom nano-fabricated memory, or its bye-bye another layer or already peeling sanity of Rimmer? Not to mention all the stakes on how badly broken their future interaction scripts will be? Poor Dave, he deserves a 'What?! The who?!' moments of his own to intergrade the idea to his own sense of self and view of reality, not setting precedents for unconsent violent responses if it does happen. Poor Rimmer, the gifts are just keeps giving. Thanks, Listy. The Ace Legacy virus has mutated. That's one screwed up combination for a future Doctor Who-escue ark, Black Mirror style.

Backstory helped. Made it just a bit more real. At least the feeling that its okay to not fret when not finding Rimmers we all know and love under there.

Still confused on the combination part. And the complete lack of freaking out, confusion or anger (not counting betrayal related) on Rimmer's part for what the patch did. I mean new things - okay, urges - somewhat useful, except... okay complicated, but his tastes, reactions changing, memories grafted - no reaction? At all? Nothing? And he's clearly Nano-Rimmer under all the baggage in some chapters, but it another 'Bwa-ha-ha, there is only Zuul! I mean, we are one person, no differentiations' in another. Or is it how the personalities perceive the other's baggage? For Ace its more of the same from the period he's already outgrown, so it makes little to no difference, and the 'newbie' drowning in what's trying to absorb him?

Lol! Just peeked at the start of the next chapter. Love how in time all the Rimmers that pass through started rubbing off on Wildfire. I pity the fool who'll try to steal her. :D

Powers of bureaucracy to the rescue! :D I'm a little sad though that 80-ish % of points triumphant, were not, probably, coming from either Second Technicians. They liked the power but were to disorganized to memorize such a massive stratum of information to draw so freely on (Although, as a curiosity reading towards procrastination of the yet another astronav exam study... :p). Its just with the all 'Ace' stuff coming through being so wildly OOC for Rimmer, without a glimpse of anything resembling coming from a possible character development, path or shreds of core Rimmer shinning through, its a little disheartening to see him reduced to a vessel. No sense of accomplishment for poor Arnold. :'( Also... Sorry for your loss, Dave.

Dennis the Doughnut Boy, you are an evil, evil man. I love it! (I mean hate it, but there were-a-many excited jittery flailings and screaming at my monitor, during this chapter.)

I like the story, so far it made me curious. What I regret is that now Rimmer does not act like any sum of his parts. Yes, I'm allowing for Ace and he is gittish... flatly. Did they mess up humans with similar history and grafted him a later version of Wesley Wyndam-Pryce, instead?

I started reading this, unwisely, at 10.30 one Wednesday night, having to teach four hours of class the next day. I finished at six-something in the morning, or maybe seven. You can imagine how the rest of the day went: I blame you entirely, and hope you feel adequately guilty. Since it took a while to recover from the sleep deprivation I never got round to reviewing (distracted by other fanfic, or too busy / tired / intimidated) and here I am, one month later and unable to remember anything definite about this crazy, crazy plot. Don't do all-nighters, kids. Still, it's one of the best and most ambitious fics I've ever read in any fandom, and I'd recommend it in a heartbeat while still being unable to explain exactly what happened.

But whatever it was, it happened HARD.

(I'm not even going to re-read it to find out. I'll shove it in my favourites and wait a couple of years so I can have my brain mangled from a fresh start, all over again.)

Excellent story. Different then I expected, left me confused at parts and intriguing all the way through. I originally thought the Ace who mind patched nano Rimmer was a different Ace then he turned out to be. You did a good job keeping your story interesting till the end.

This is the best piece of fanfic I have EVER read. I've read it twice, now. Once a few weeks after the final A/N was up and just today. Both times, I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning just to get to the end. Both times, my brain ached from the sheer insanity of the paradoxes, the time shifts, the deep-dark meaning. Both times, I cried my eyes out several places from beginning to end.

It's just done well. So well that a large part of me wishes it could have just been canon. And yet, so well, that there is really no reason for it to be more than beautiful, delicious, amazing, written word.

I know I will read this fic again in a few years. I know I will love it and cherish it and stand in total gob-smacked awe of it then, too.

I don't know what else I can say. It just...ugh. Please tell me you are secretly professional published writer. Or that you are at least planning to write more fanfiction in the near future. I would be first in line to read it!

I have never had such a visceral reaction to a fic ever. I am crying my eyes out, and I'm not sure how much is happiness or melancholy or whatever. It took some careful reading to slot all the many paradoxes and wibbly-wobbley, timey-wimey stuff together in my head, but oh my goodness...

This feels like it should have been canon. Thank you very much for writing this.

O well this is a very very delightful and surprising find - loved the first chapter. I always wondered if Ace would come back and what he would be like, I was all excited with the old Rimmer being back, but now hes dead. :( Thats sad!
