Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter. CURRENTLY UNABLE TO WRITE TO MENTAL HEALTH REASONS. ON HIATUS FOR AT LEAST 1 TO 3 MONTHS. I'm sorry to not have written this earlier, I didn't have access to my computer before. A bit on me: Languages: French (native tongue) and English (Fluent) Hogwarts House: Ravenclaw/Slytherin (Muggle-born me is Ravenclaw and pure-blood me is Slytherin. Half-blood me is undecided) School I'd actually want to attend: Beauxbâtons Academy of Magic (I mean, who does want to live in a seventeenth-century palace in the Pyrenees to learn magic and potentially another language?) Favourite Muggle Class: History Favourite Wizarding Class: Charms Favoured Political Ideology: Monarchy Religion: I don’t have any particular faith, but I identify myself as agnostic because I want to let my options open. You know how people will say you have a millennial or boomer personality? Well, I was told by one of my friends (yeah I know, friends, something everyone on the internet says they don't have, and not fiends like my auto-corrector says) that I was able to be even ’older’ than a Baby Boomer. This generally causes me to have contradicting views and unpopular opinions and speaking like I was some kind of grumpy three-hundred years old person. Other than the Harry Potter franchise, I consider myself a big fan of Tolkien's legendarium (although it’s been a couple of years I put it to the side burner). I'm also a fan of Hetalia and Star Wars. My favourite characters for these two fandoms are, respectively, Austria and Emperor Palpatine. Other than that, I read the first three Percy Jackson books some years ago, but for a reason I don’t know I just didn’t ask my parents to buy the next one *shrugging emoji*. Scion to the Noble and Most Ancient House of Beaudelaire: The story follows the life of Anthonie de Bousquet, second son to the Marquis of Beaudelaire. Anthonie is a French, pure-blood wizard whose family goes back to Charlemagne and married with pure-blood families from other European countries so as to keep their lineage pure, unlike the British who were isolated on their island. The story begins when we witness the birth of Anthonie and the first seven chapters tell about Anthonie’s life at home and set the functionings of magical Europe and the family dynamics of the multinational family of our main character as well as him making friends in the persons of Daphne Greengrass, her cousin, Sybil Fawley(OC), and Tracey Davis. This causes our main character desiring to attend Hogwarts and is able thanks to an ancient bylaw in the school’s rules dating from the Founders’ time. From chapter 8 onwards, our characters attend the famous British school of magic and we get to see how their actions change the course of the books for the better and for the worse. The story will end at the end of their fourth year at school and will be followed by a sequel that will relate their fifth to seventh year. This story will have a great emphasis on world-building of the greater magical world on the international scene and domestic one for some nation as well as the history of Anthonie's extended family and magical Europe. The way magic works in the world of Harry Potter and the lessons will be expanded on. Finally, politics and, to a lesser extent, wizarding fashion will be touched upon as some of Anthonie's relatives are politicians and this will play more of an important role in the later years (Anthonie and his friends are still children, after all, and they won't begin to understand the intricacies of politics before they are suddenly forced to play proxies for their families) and the latter is a personal interest of our protagonist. Currently writing chapter 13. Unfortunately, the process is longer than I would like as it almost completely deals with events not linked to the original books. About the Lordships/Most Noble and Ancient Houses trope: You can rest assured that I hate as much as the next person the Super!Grey!Genius!HadrianAlexanderPotter-Black-Peverell-Slytherin-Gryffindor-Hufflepuff-Ravenclaw-Lefay-Windsor-Merlin!Harry trope or anything similar to it for any other character. And it's ridiculous when authors make out half of the wizarding families of Great Britain and Ireland to be aristocrats of some sort. But I will have the wizarding world have an aristocracy which will compose a great part of the Wizengamot but not all of it. The Wizengamot will be some kind of Chamber of Lords with aristocrats like the Houses of Malfoy, Black, Greengrass and Longbottom, the Minister and his Cabinet and the Heads of the Departments like Amelia Bones, but there will also be some 'normal' and half-blood seat holders like the House of Abbott and Marchbanks. But, and this is important, the wizarding UK also has a lower chamber like the Commons: the Geongragamot. This one is elected every five years and is also composed of the Heads of Departments included in the seven main Departments like the Office of Goblin Liaison and the Office of Muggle Protection. Meaning people like Arthur Weasley, Dirk Cresswell, and Rufus Scrimgeour are part of this assembly. The Geongragamot makes and present law projects to the Wizengamot who will vote for or against it, the Wizengamot can refuse a law project as many times as it votes against it and it is the Minister’s Cabinet that gives counsel to the Geongragamot to change a law project. Fashion in the wizarding world: As I said earlier, I want to put a certain focus on the fashion of the wizarding world, to reassert its aesthetic. I particularly dislike the movies for making almost everyone wear Muggle clothes and making the Hogwarts uniform a glorified Muggle one (among other things). I am far from a film hater, I appreciate them. And I am not a book purists. If I was I wouldn’t write fanfics. But Rowling’s witches and wizards dress in a way that is clearly alien and strange compared to our own fashion, and it peeves me that the movies thought themselves ’above’ showing teenagers in ’silly robes’. Well, news flash, the book series you adapt on the big screen became bestselling to this day by (among other things) showcasing teenagers in ’silly robes’. Sorry for the rant. So yeah, Wizarding aesthetics. I’ve seen someone post somewhere about how they imagined wizardkind to dress in the books along with drawings of their vision. One of their points I particularly like is that wizards don’t need to care about petty things like physics or practicality. You want a dress with a nine meters trail but it gets dirty? Cleaning Charms. Your robe gets in your feet when you go up the stairs because it’s too long? Hover Charms. That hat is way/your clothes are too heavy? Featherweight Charms. You want to dress in many layers but it’s too warm outside? Cooling Charms. Wizards have magic, so of course they won't have taken the same path as Muggles in regards to fashion. Another example that you can find in Canon is them still having money made out of precious metals instead of paper because of their magic. Second rant over. If you're wondering where I got my mental image for the Hogwarts uniform, say hello to this bad boy: https:///pin/540994973977620824/ I think it’s a good middle point between the books plain robes (and the magicky appearance) while still identifying one’s house (which was a major plothole of the books). Be prepared to be shocked once we see Umbridge in my fanfic. She may be the only one to have her clothing changed from the description of the books and I mean it’s a complete butchery of the original (don’t worry, it’s still horrifyingly pink). Bashing (and other things): I am completely against bashing of characters that don’t deserve it (looking at you, Powerful!Independent!Grey!God! Harry fics that bashes all the Weasleys and half of Hogwarts’ faculty). Dumbledore (Albus) is a good man who is only human, and humans make mistakes. His just happen to have bigger consequences. So all of you angsty teenagers that bash on my Dumbledore because you’re ’too cool for school’ and don’t like authority figures for some hippie nonsense can go back in your dark and filthy alleys with the emos and go cut your wrists and smoke or whatever young people do these days. You won’t see any sort of Dumbledore or Weasley bashing except for the occasional socially dense!Ron which isn’t really bashing but canon. Dumbledore is in my top two favourite characters along with Hermione in the Harry Potter franchise. On the Malfoys. This is what I think should’ve happened to the Malfoys after the Second Wizarding British Civil War: - Lucius: Should have been thrown in Azkaban for life after trial under Veritaserum. - Narcissa: Innocent and was the one who helped Harry and went against Voldemort. She's the only one of the three to not have joined Voldemort. - Draco: Trial under Veritaserum and depends on the sentence given. I would probably have given him a couple of years in Azkaban. Maybe even a life sentence since I think he actually did the Crucitus Curse successfully on someone, but I’d have to check. On Snape: He was on the good side, but he was still a b*tch and it was unnecessary. He didn't need to be a prick even towards Harry. And to the people who say that bs about him needing to make an image as a double agent because we all know Voldemort didn't care about that. Snape could have avoided any contact that wasn't necessary and Voldemort and the Death Eaters would have been fine as long as he showed favouritism to the 'good sort'. I mean, Voldemort wasn't angry at Crouch Jr. for being nice towards Harry and teaching well the whole school about defence, nor was Quirrell for being nice to Harry by making him avoid being put into detention by Filch at the beginning of term. No, in fact, I'm sure Voldemort would have applauded Snape to put such a facade and going against his desire to make Potter's spawn suffer and to put suspicions to him being a double agent for him away by being fair to 'Mudbloods' just like he was with pure-bloods. He wasn't suited to teach young children at all. But despite all that, Potions is still a very stressful class to teach when just one small mistake can melt/blow a cauldron. Of course, Neville and the other non-Slytherin students would have made fewer mistakes in his class if they weren’t shitting themselves because he breathes down their neck, shouts at them and just irritates or scares them. It's still important to note that it is said in the books that in spite of his teaching methods and high requirements for his Advanced Potions class that there are enough graduates with a N.E.W.T. in Potions. I cannot stress it enough. There are Fanfics on this site that says that Snape’s bad teaching affects the number of Aurors and Healers. THIS IS NOT TRUE! Snape is a bad pedagogue, that much is true, but he isn’t causing a national crisis. If anything else, Snape doesn’t let undeserving people the chance of getting those crucial jobs because they don’t see Potions as magic, but as cooking. Potion-making is a sacrificial magical ritual and that’s why they’re so much more powerful than wand magic. If you want to be an Auror and excel in everything else, then go to the DMLE, I’m sure that your more than masterful skills will let you be one in spite of your lack of experience with potions. But over my dead body will you become a Healer if you don’t appreciate the art of making the majority of what will heal your patients. Snape has enough graduates in Advanced Potions and you are an Ostrich if you say otherwise.
