Author has written 3 stories for How to Train Your Dragon, and Fullmetal Alchemist. Hey, hey! The name's Alice. 25/F/Canada. I don't have a ton of time for fandom stuff right now, but I'm a big Race to the Edge fan and might dabble in it a little more in the future. If you know me from tumblr, I'm taking a loooooong break from there but am otherwise alive and well! I have loved the Fullmetal Alchemist manga since 2007-ish but haven't been involved in the online fandom since '09 or so. I generally write cute character-driven canon-compliant stories with lots of snarky dialogue. Not big on modern AUs, because man, my life is a modern AU. Maybe one day I'll write a romance fic that's NOT about a sarcastic guy with a prosthetic leg and his cool tough blonde girlfriend, but, uh, [checks notes] I haven't yet. HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON STUFF: Adventures in Language is pretty well on hiatus right now; I have a lot built up in my head as far as the island and the characters go, but the plot itself needs a lot more work than I have time for at the moment. It was more of a self-indulgent OC vehicle than anything, but there's lots of The Gang Interacting With Each Other in there, which is still a lot of fun IMO, so feel free to peruse it anyway. Next time I end up rewatching RTTE I'm probably going to take the time to adapt a few of the chapters from Adventures in Language into stand-alone one-shots, so be on the lookout for that! Getting the story straight is a complete three-part story! A lot of people seem to be following it even after the final installment was posted. Flattering, don't get me wrong, but, like...that's all, folks. I may write similar stuff in the future, but that's it for that particular one. FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST STUFF: Continental Breakfast is my baby right now. Please appreciate my baby. It's a collection of drabbles/vignettes/semi-connected snippets taking place during the two-year gap, and each chapter has a designated song for extra theme-y goodness. I've got a lot of ideas for this one right now and they're naturally in pretty bite-sized pieces, so expect updates! :) Lots more slow-burning EdWin stuff in the works, plus some closer looks at Ed, Al and Winry individually--not to mention teen angst, physiotherapy hell, dates gone wrong, career moves, unexpectedly fancy dinner parties, confrontations over tea, emotionally significant acts of interior design, and the magical world of human resources. I also have a sequel/companion fic/I-don't-really-know-what in the works following the same continuity but that will need a higher rating, but I haven't decided where I'm going to put it just yet. If you're hoping for post-Ed-Goes-West EdWin content, this will be that, so stay tuned! It's probably gonna be awhile though. That's it for now. Take it easy, guys! |
