Yesterday Ain't Far Away

A collection of background stories centering around Antonia, Savannah, Annika, Ash, Alduin, Adria, Alana and several other characters of mine that take place before TTTBAF.

NOTES:

It's gonna be at least ten chapters. And yes, I've already started it.

Rating: T. I mean... the themes are a bit disturbing come to think of it...

Because the story covers at least ten years of each character's life, the chapters are gonna be PRETTY DAMN LONG.

IMPORTANT CHARACTERS IN "JUST A GIRL" TRILOGY (Yeah, this Elyssia thing's turning into a trilogy!):

Elyssia Antonia Maccabaeus

Age: 12 (TTTBAF)/ 13 (TM)

Gender: Female

Plant: Snow Pea

Personality: Always willing and able to fight for the greater good, Elyssia is as stubborn as an ox and as tough as a rock. In spite of her rather snippy, cold and angry exterior, her heart's as large as the sun and is worth its weight in gold. Because of what she's been through, it can be rather difficult to get her to trust you. But once you do, you'll see a whole other side of her. She cares a lot about the greater good, and she will always keep an alert eye out for those she loves. Elyssia had a prophecy on her head, which she fulfilled, even with the trials she had to face to get there, and that is why she is seen as a true heroine by many.

Strengths: Elyssia is loyal and intelligent, but most importantly, she is a very caring girl-plant, even if it doesn't seem like it at first. She also happened to be blessed with the ability to control ice, wind and snow. Strengthened by her gruelling trials against evil, the odds of killing her are pretty damn close to zero. She is always ready to put her life on the line just to keep her loved ones safe. When she makes a mistake, whether it's big or small, she is wiling to go to hell and back just to make things right. Elyssia is rather lippy as well, which allows her to win most verbal arguments. She's pretty serious most of the time as well, which, in addition to all her other qualities, makes her an excellent soldier. She's also gained an impressive knowledge of healing and the spiritual world, thanks to what she's been through.

Weaknesses: Elyssia had been through a lot. Like, a LOT. And I'm not talking about the bullying and stuff. On many occasions before she turned twelve, she has been torn apart by various events and plants. It is these demons that sometimes cause her to act strangely and fight the ones she loves for no reason. It is because of her past that she has low self esteem and a tendency to put herself down. She tries her best to bottle up her anger, but it inevitably flies out sooner or later. Beware angering and/or condescending her, because she can kill you or injure you badly with one fell swoop of her leaf. Her anger is a lethal weapon, and she will lash out if you say the wrong thing to her.

Peater Haliantherus

Age: 13 (TTTBAF)/ 14 (TM)

Personality: Happy-go-lucky and extremely caring, Peater wants nothing more than to help those he loves as much as he can. In spite of his cheery aura, Peater tries to bottle in his emotions and hide them. Unfortunately, they come tumbling out at some point or another, causing him to do and/or say things that could potentially rip others apart inside.

Strengths: Excellent at holding his own during most battles and struggles, Peater learned to find strength within himself, which makes him a rather formidable fighter. Like Elyssia, he too is loyal to the end, and is willing to go to great lengths to keep the lives of those he loves safe.

Weaknesses: Since he lost his parents, Peater has had one big fear: not being loved. Sure, he can survive on his own, but without someone there reaching out to him, he feels lost and brokenhearted, like he has no purpose on this earth.

IMPORTANT CHARACTERS FOR "THROUGH TOIL, TEARS, BLOOD AND FIRE" (Will add as time goes on):

Elyssia Antonia Maccabaeus

Age: 12

Plant: Snow Pea

Personality: Elyssia has been bullied at school because of her "ability", which made her able to use ice and snow to her favour. Her instincts have always flown out of control when she was upset, and she could become violently and mercilessly angry and hurt and kill others. Early in the year of 2013, she lost two twin siblings. But underneath all that, Elyssia happens to be truly beautiful in a charismatic and mysterious way. My one word for this gal? Kaleidoscope.

Peater Haliantherus

Age: 13

Plant: Repeater

Personality: Peater is strong, and willing to give his care and time to those that need it the most. He lost his parents to Dr. Zomboss, and hasn't exactly been the same ever since. He seeks solace in those who have hearts of gold, and in his only friend, Ash (well... up till now...)

Ash Lethus

Age: 15

Plant: Flaming Pea

Personality: Ash had a hot temper... until he lost his parents and wandered over to Downtown Toronto. He worked his way up to being the leader of the base in the Eaton Center, and he has attracted gifted plants from the GTA... and maybe beyond. Ash is a distant cousin of Peater, and he was always willing to give help to those who needed it, until he started acting strangely...

Annika Aviora

Age: 11

Plant: Sunflower

Personality: Annika was always known as the bouncy and playful type of plant in the rundown area of Runnymede. She was an extremely gifted Sunflower, and because of her seemingly "crazy and extrovertly" behavior, she has been whipped badly by her teachers, causing her to run away from home at a young age. She found home at the TEC, and has been known as the shy type.

Adria Masaria and Alana Masaria

(both are deceased)

Age: 14

Plants: Adria-???; unverified,

Alana-Flaming Pea

Personalities: These twins were adopted by Elyssia's parents when they were just four. Mother abandoned them. Adria looked like a Flaming Pea but she shot toxic peas. Alana was a Flaming Pea through and through. Adria and Alana had a lot of differences, but they seemed to share the same soul. They also developed a close relationship with Elyssia, and they always stuck up for her at school. They were killed early in April 2013, never knowing that they were adopted.

Ellen Ignatius

Plant: Sunflower

Age: 12

Personality: Ellen was the leader of a gang of plants that loved to antagonize Elyssia. She acted this way because she was greatly abused at home by unloving parents. Ellen was pretty much a pot of jealousy, because Elyssia apparently "had things she didn't have."

Alduin

Plant: Peashooter

Age: 13

Personality: Ellen's lackey/crush/boyfriend/bodyguard/BFF/screw it. Alduin and Ellen were neighbors, and they knew each other before they started school. He also shared Ellen's jealous attitude towards Elyssia.

Elias Haliantherus

Plant: Peashooter

Age: 40

Personality: Grew up hating the Maccabaeus family. This Peashooter was the father of Peater. Elias apparently died in an attack, but turns out that he escaped. Also ended up hating Elyssia for her flaws, but ended up treating her like the daughter he never had.

Eric Yhamanae

Plant: Cactus

Age: 20

Personality: This Cactus was the father of one of the plants who specialized in torturing Elyssia. He's had a bad childhood, so he ran away. After Ash had absconded the TEC, he took over. Thing is, quite a few plants (including Elyssia and Peater) don't exactly trust him.

Savannah Dionne

Plant: Blover

Age: 19

Personality: Savannah is the messenger for the plants in Ontario. Yes, she is a little hyper, and gets overly excited... and sometimes, she arouses a paroxysm in a plant or two.

IMPORTANT CHARACTERS FOR "TRAPPED MEMORIES" (Will edit as time goes on, yada yada):

Elyssia Antonia Maccabaeus

Age: 13

Personality: The past war has left Elyssia wiser, stronger, and with even more determination. But ever since opening that scarlet letter, she started acting unusual, which is surefire proof that she still has some more demons to overcome.

Peater Haliantherus

Age: 14

Personality: Peater has been doggedly swimming in a pool of complex emotions thanks to Elyssia's strange behaviour. Now, he wants nothing more than to get to the core of her fake smiles and hidden secrets.

IMPORTANT CHARACTERS IN "TALISA GLACE-BLANCHE OF QUEEN STREET":

Talisa Glace-Blanche

Age: 15

Plant: Snow Pea

Personality: Rough, tough and sassy on the outside, confused and lost on the inside, Talisa wants nothing more than to get to the heart of what makes her so different. Her head glows when she's scared or upset, attracting a lot of (mostly negative) attention from outsiders.

Alessia Glace-Blanche

Age: 35

Plant: Snow Pea

Personality: A caring, hardworking mother who was torn apart by her past. She's been very overprotective over Talisa ever since an... incident.

Wulf Asamius

Age: ?!

Plant: Peashooter

Personality: Not much is known bout Wulf, except for the fact that he was Talisa's father and left his partner and daughter some time ago.

Pete Felixis

Age: 15

Plant: Repeater

Personality: Pete was an uncaring plant from the start, but as soon as he met Talisa, his life took a 180 degree turn.

Raziela Heliodorus

Age: 18

Plant: Sunflower

Personality: Founder and leader of the street gang known as the Eagles. Toughened by her past, this Sunflower might seem rude, but deep down, she as a caring heart.

Desmond Fiocerdimus

Age: 19

Plant: Flaming Pea

Personality: A low-key, mysterious plant who keeps to himself as much as possible.

THE FAMILIES:

Maccabaeus: This family is brave... but they have short tempers, and therefore, they've developed an instinct that has overcome their minds and landed them in... let's say big crap with the authorities. Underneath all that anger, there are hearts that are worth their weight in gold (most of the time).

Haliantherus: b and unyielding, these plants are famous for being frontline fighters. But along with that excellent quality, they have on flaw: they fall in love too easily, and sometimes, it can be for better or for worse...

Aviora: This is a family of gifted Sunflowers that believes in helping everyone. They're sweet and sometimes... a little hyper

Yhamanae: This is a family that consists ONLY of Cacti. They're mysterious and hard to catch. Many believe that they are working for Zomboss. Are they good or bad? Hey -- nobody knows!

Lethus: Definitely bad. They've been working with Zomboss since a feud broke out with their cousins, the Haliantherus family. Are they showing any signs of changing? Nope, they'd rather stay on the dark side.

Asamius: A family mostly consisting of plants that were... let's say on the other side of the law.

Fiocerdimus: A family of what most believe to be wrongdoing lowlifes. This is what most think are behind their low-key behaviour. Whether or not this is true is yet to be determined.
