Welcome!

About me: I'm a 30-year-old single mother of an almost-9-year-old son with autsm. In a past life (as in up until about 4 years ago), I was a pastry chef in Denver, CO at a pretty nice hotel. Since my son and I moved back to SoCal, I've taken some time to do some soul searching and realized that as much as I love to bake I'm not in the position to do it as a career anymore. I may still do a little on the side for friends and family, as a hobby, but my son has inspired me to go back to school to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Development/Childhood Education so I can work with other special needs kids (preferably in preschool or elementary school). I've recently completed my undergrad and am now in a credential program to teach special education to students K-22.

Between classes, student teaching, working at a charter school school, and my son's behavioral therapy 5x a week, this profile is used more as a forum to hold my favorite stories (for the rare moments I'll get a chance to relax and read a chapter).

As for my own stories, well I started them at a completely different point in my life. Not to say I'll NEVER get around to finishing them, but for now they're on an indefinite leave of absence. I would have to somehow manage to get into the mindset of teenage me to find a way to either write like her or bring in my new life perspective. Either would take a lot of work and effort and, as I've just mentioned, I'm crazy busy with my new path.
