Author has written 14 stories for Teen Titans, Wrestling, Song of the Lioness, General Hospital, and Batman. 11/19/2009 at 8:04 am: Every morning my Batman alarm clock goes off at 7:15, with an ominous bat signal on the ceiling. The perfect way to start a morning, I think. I'm originally from mountain-town, NJ, but for now I'm a Super-Senior at college in a big ole' city. Despite my arguments to my parents, a Super-Senior is actually not a recognized super hero. I'm studying to be an engineer and I work at a library, so needless to say, I think about writing... a lot, but never manage to, uh... do it. So, the brainstorming is there, but the execution needs a bit of work. I'm kind of awkward, but not in that quirky, endearing way. I'm awkward in the way that makes other people equally awkward around me. It's kind of like sexually-transmitted-awkwardness, without the, you know, sexual part. But, to try and make myself feel better about this, let's call it a handicap, I now just try to make every situation as hilarious as possible. I'll keep you updated as this experiment progresses... I like a bunch of things including DC comics, science, coffee, champagne, grape jelly, old t shirts, new dresses, riding my bike, clicky pens, and avoiding confrontational talks with my parents (Seriously, Padre, I have no idea what I'm going to do after college... let's not talk about it until I pass discrete math). A few of my favorite characters include Tim Drake-Wayne (DCU), Jason Todd (DCU), Raven Roth (DCU), Bruce Wayne (DCU), Jeff Hardy (WWE), Maria (WWE), Damian Spinelli (GH), Buffy Summers (BtVS, cause what kind of girl would I be if I didn't?), Sheldon(TBBT, Penny/Sheldon are tops). I truly believe that Liz Lemon made it cool to be nerdy, geeky, witty, single and awkward. She is possibly the most realistic woman on TV, and I luff her for that. Seriously, if you aren't watching 30 Rock, you really really should be. It's hilarious. I had a thought the other day: It's strange, I really want someone to hold me accountable for deadlines of papers, assignments, fics, bills, and basically everything I need to do, but I don't want it to be my parents. I'm working on this. I am. I'm kind of funny about what I read in this fanfictional library. I start by desperately clinging to a character that I feel the most attachment too and then try and find the one other character that defines that character. Whether good or bad, girl or boy, friend or friend (nudge-nudge, wink-wink). The characters that usually end up being my favorites, are the ones that are seemingly diverse enough to truly attach themselves (in any way, antagonistic or protagonistic) to nearly any other character they interact with. I like it when I see very subtle chemistry. I very rarely like obvious couples. And I even more rarely ever read stories where the main character is an OC. If I do, that is truly a testament to how fantastic I think your writing is. I also think that it's fair to mention that a whole lot of my main characters (whoever I am writing at the moment) seem to be very Holden Caulfield-esque. I'm not sure if it's just because I admired that character so much, or it's something else entirely. But there it is. Drop me a line if you want to, cause I love talking about this kind of stuff. And just for fun-sies, I'm going to close with what's in my pull box in my LCS: Batman, Batman and Robin, Red Robin, Batman: the Widening Gyre, Sweet Tooth, Green Lantern, Green Lantern Corps, Blackest Night, Batgirl, JLA: Cry for Justice, Teen Titans, Adventure Comics, Batman: Streets of Gotham, Daytripper, Joe the Barbarian, whichever comic Francis Manapul is drawing for... I am currently working on: "The Con" and a few other Batman centered fic. Mostly around Tim Drake... cause... Robins... wide eyed blinks "Down Towards the Healing" - In honor of Jeff Hardy being back, a little older, a little thicker, but still artistically flying and impressing me in a horrible wardrobe. And ya know what? He deserves a little romance in his life. I think this good be the first time I'm writing something that isn't slash. I think there has just been a cold day in hell. (8/28/09) Well, Jeff's gone... again. But, I'll still periodically write something angsty for him. shelved for now. I have a couple more Teen Titans stories floating around the old Brain Bucket, but I want to have a complete outline of beginning to end for at least one of them. Also, I have to talk to someone about how inspiring her story was, and would it be ok if I maybe, took a concept and went my own way with it? Of course, that really requires me to, ya know, talk to people, so we'll see. |
