A week (or so) that changes everything. Will & MacKenzie at the time of Season 2, Episodes 3 & 4. COMPLETELY NEW STORY with flashbacks to the past in almost every chapter.

Will gets the wrong end of the stick and then finds managing a relationship with Nina harder than he thought. Set when Will has been with Nina for 6 months. AU after Don tells Mac she should date. Silly stuff to get through to season 3. No ownership rights. Two swear words.

AU - What happens if Mac was pregnant when Will broke up with her. She tells him via email, but he only reads her mails 3 years later. I don't own anything except the idea for this story.

Snapshots of Will's thoughts about Mackenzie throughout the series. Each chapter will tag to the episodes sequentially.

The front of her building was crowded with police cars and an ambulance, a long yellow cord preventing anyone from going inside. [...] Everything in her living room was turned upside down: papers scattered all over the room, broken glass on the floor, smashed laptop on her desk, cushions thrown from the couch that had landed everywhere. What the hell had happened in there?

"She's tried running. Miles and across the sea and back. And she's tried grinning and bearing it, and breathing through it, and yoga, for a bit." Will finds Nina. MacKenzie tries writing, and finds herself along the way.

"MacKenzie knows that she needs to uproot and leave before she rots where she's planted." 2.06 AU; the Genoa story never goes to air. Now complete.

"Will?" she tried again, a little louder, but there was still no response. Reluctantly, she cracked open one eye. Shit. She hadn't even made it to bed. It was dark, and she was lying face down in the dirt. Where the hell was she? Does Mac have the hangover from hell? Or is it something worse? Post S2.

What Will might have been thinking as he sat on the edge of his desk while Charlie explained his position on employment issues and the progress of News Night 2.00. Series 2. ep 9 Never done this before, but I just cant wait for Mr Sorkin's next series. Sorry. One repetitive swear word! No Newsroom ownership rights.

All the loose ends we leave behind, unspooled threads of twine that tie us together, what do we do with them? —Six shots ring out on the twenty-third floor of the AWM building at just past one-thirty in the afternoon. (Post-Genoa retraction AU. WIP. Ensemble, Mac-centric.)

"Considering how tightly she has her arms wrapped around his shoulders she knows how troubling the good can be, too. And Will, she thinks, has never really known how to have things." That too, is a choice. Will's father calls after the American Taliban broadcast. (AU after S1, one-shot.)

After spending years apart, personally, it takes some time for them to get over the awkwardness. Post Season 2.

In which Will learns that forgiveness doesn't mean condoning past behavior.

They meet as strangers six years later at charity event, years and the whole of the Atlantic between them. One-shot AU. "What if Mac had never had Jim in her life?"

She hasn't slept in over twenty-four hours, and she's still got miles and hours to go until she intends to rest. (A version of 'Under the Waves' where Mac comes home before the Ghouta attack, no one gets sarin dropped on them, and everyone is a lot happier. 2.09 AU.)
