When they get back together in Season 1, Rayna and Deacon have a serious conversation about all those years they spent apart - and what truths those years taught them.

When Rayna flies to LA to smooth things over with Luke, Deacon shows up the next morning when she's alone in her hotel room: "You look well-rested," and she's known him long enough to know it's not a compliment.

Deacon finally answers a question he's been asking himself for years about Rayna. "When it hurt to love her, it hurt the way the light hurts your eyes in the middle of the night. But I had to see, even through the ruin, if what we were burying were seeds."

Deacon is fresh out of rehab for the fifth time and wants to know if he still has a job; Rayna finally agrees to see him. It's been ten months and sixteen days and another man's ring since Rayna and Deacon have seen each other.

After Deacon learns that Maddie is his daughter in season 1, he doesn't drink. Instead, he must find other ways to deal with his anger - and ways to forgive Rayna for what she's done. (AU, obviously).

When it's time to make amends after he relapses, Deacon comes to Rayna and tells her something that rocks her to her core.

On the second anniversary of Vince's death, Deacon shows up at Rayna's door. There are so many other places he could have gone, but she has always been the only one who could give him what he needs.

It's the night before Rayna marries Luke, she's listening to a bootleg version of "I Know How to Love You Now," and she has a revelation. Maybe she needs the pain to feel the joy; maybe she needs Deacon.

This story follows moments in Rayna & Deacon's relationship: their first autumn apart, their fourth date, their last fight, the aftermath, and a present-day (from season 1) moment that asks both of them to remember it all.

Rayna's divorce was just announced, and Deacon has a girlfriend? Seems like suspicious timing. Perhaps they should talk about it.

It's a Valentine's Day Story. Rayna comes home to find that Deacon has broken their 'no gifts' rule, so she spontaneously gives him the most precious gift he's ever received.

When Rayna reluctantly agrees to attend a charity event hosted by Juliette (what!), she has a bad feeling about it. Is she being overly cautious? Or does Juliette have something up her proverbial sleeve?

Deacon gets a late night text from Rayna shortly after he learns about the impending divorce, and she learns of Teddy's affair. He goes to meet her at Tootsie's after she's had a bit too much champagne. "Love is a downpour of shelter."

"Touch has a memory." Deacon is pleased to find this is true on the first night he and Rayna have together in over a decade.

Rayna Jaymes was a liar, and that truth had been in the pit of her stomach for 13 years. A look back at the first time she ever lied to Deacon Claybourne, and the aftermath. "Things come apart so easily when they have been held together with lies."

When it comes to dating, Deacon Claybourne has a very strict 6 month rule. You know why.

In season one, Rayna finds out that Deacon's slept with Juliette. They talk about it. "Guess you still like 'em young, huh?"

"I've been having that dream again-it seems I always will; I don't know what the thing means, except it sends me to the telephone." Rayna, still married to Teddy in Season 1, phones Deacon after she wakes from a recurring dream.

"If he put enough distance between that memorial site and himself, he was sure he could get the sound of metal hitting pavement out of his head." This is how Deacon got that ring back.

"Deacon had his foot on that for sale sign, like it was the only thing holding him to the ground. Like it was his lifeline, and without it he'd float, sink, or explode." This one-shot takes place during the Season 1 episode "You Win Again" when Deacon hops on Juliette's plane to join her on tour.

He watches her sometimes. "We have to be able to do three things: We have to be able to love what is mortal, to hold it against our bones, knowing our whole life depends on it, and when the time comes, to let it go."

This is a long awaited conversation; Cal and Gillian finally talk about everything. "This: it's an apology letter to the both of us for how long it took me to let things go."

Gillian receives a curious letter-Cal, of course, noses his way into the situation. Thus abounds fun, roadtrips and backstory! The secret is out, they're going to Gillian's high school reunion! COMPLETE.
